A good (and moving) post. Perhaps it can be bumped for Memorial Day and the Fourth?

These are just ordinary hard working people. They could be your brother or your sister. They should not have had to die like that. May their spirits be at peace.

This sends Bunker into the same rage that the photos of the planes going into both buildings did. The photos are back now, for one reason. To direct people's anger toward Bush and his staff. I hate the media as much as the coward Muslims who did this.

Memorial bump.

Mr. McIntyre could hardly have known it, but he stood at a critical boundary. Above him, across 19 floors, were 1,344 people, many of them alive, stunned, unhurt, calling for help. Not one would survive. Below, across 90 floors, thousands of others were also alive, stunned, unhurt, calling for help. Nearly all of them lived.
Amazing record of these last desperate hours. This needs to be on the desk of every Democrat and press person...as well as every Muslim would-be bomber.. who continue to see us not as fellow human beings, individuals with families and feelings, but as things, "infidels", "racists", "Republicans"...
NY Times....how can you read your own detailed and horrendously sad account and continue to slander our Commander-in-Chief and misstate information?

A tough read. I'm too tightened up to even comment on the article. This horror will stay in my consciousness forever.

Powerful - thanks. I just met a woman whose husband had gone work for Cantor-Fitzgerald a few weeks prior to this. He's dead, of course.

This is incredible reporting. I was crying when I finished it. The NYT has done a great thing for us all by publishing this - in its Sunday edition, where it will be read all over the country and the world.
Never forget.
