Critics Say 'Star Wars:Episode 2-Attack of the Clones' Has Racial Stererotypes (Liberal Wacko Alert)

George Lucas, sometimes accused of reinforcing racial stereotypes with his movies, has done it again according to critics.

Latino critics in particular charge his latest Star Wars epic toys with American paranoia about Mexican immigration with its cloned army of swarthy lookalikes who march lockstep by the tens of thousands, and ultimately end up serving as Darth Vaders white suited warriors.

Any comparison between Jango and Mexicans never crossed my mind during the movie.

If anything, the kid/son of the bounty hunter was a dead-ringer for Greg Louganis (at an early age), which would indicate Polynesian blood NOT Latino/Hispanic.

Couldn't say for sure. I was never big on Star Trek, but Star Wars is awesome. My favorite movies of all time. Definitely worth seeing.

Not only that, but when we get offended by their chronic attacks, whether racist, religious, patriotic, or any other of a million or so other things they attack over, we're supposed to shut up so as not to offend the offenders. What is wrong with this picture?? Hypocrites!

I really don't see what the problem everybody seems to have with jar-jar is, other than that he is annoying at times. I thought he provided a lot of comic balance in Episode I and he and Anakin certainly added appeal to a new generation of Star Wars fans.

Well, that might be a bit extreme, but Episode I was my grandson's first movie and at age 2, he really liked Jar-Jar AND Anakin, so I guess I was seeing them both through his eyes.

Yes, yes, everyone else copied Lucas in the beginning, because he's the master. Which makes me wonder all the more why Lucas would borrow from the people who have been running with his lead all this time. Seems like a nested plagiarism loop to me.

I guess I'm prejudiced because the original movies were aimed at a more adult audience, but kids loved them. With Episode 1, he aimed it squarely at kids, and turned off a lot of the adults. I think he hit the mark again with Episode II.

I LOVED the Ewoks! And C3PO is part of the whole character of Star Wars. It just wouldn't be the same without him.

I haven't seen those movies so I don't know what you're talking about, but I'll take your word for it. But honestly, when there are that many "rip-offs" I'd think it's more the director putting in something from the back of his mind and not really thinking about where it came from than a direct rip-off. Just my 2¢.

The "Jar-Jar/space-n****r" story first made the rounds back when Episode I was still in the theatres. So... if you go looking for "space-n****rs", you're likely to find some.

Lucas is, finally, getting around to making cinematic versions of action sequences that were written, in licensed 'Star Wars' novels, as much as two decades ago. That doesn't make it plagiarism on his part. He owns the rights to the material and can use it, anytime. We can all wish he would use it faster, but it doesn't make it any less his.

There's enough 'Star Wars' material in existence to make more than 100 films. That others want to steal some of those ideas and do so isn't that surprising. What's surprising is that Lucas is then accused of stealing the ideas back.
