A 5-year-old Rancho Cordova girl will return to kindergarten at the Capital Christian School after being expelled last week because administrators discovered her mother works as a nude dancer.
Christina Silvas, 24, agreed to stop working at Gold Club Centerfolds off Highway 50 for at least the next three weeks so her daughter can graduate from kindergarten and attend the end-of-the-year pool party she had been looking forward to.

Now, do you know that firsthand, or did you used to work with strippers who moonlighted at Taco Bell? I'm just trying to keep up with your tale here...
Of course they make a heck of a lot more money .. most women don't do it because they like a lot of preverts grabbing at them all they time .. It may not be pretty .. but it is reality
She could have sought out a school more in line with her example.
I called Pastor Cole this morning with my idea to put a peaceful ending to all of this nonsense. I offered to commit the next three weeks in full support of my daughter and not work. During this time I will look into all of the offers which have come my way regarding schools, churches, and occupations (none of which came from the church.) Pastor Cole accepted my offer and Abby will be welcomed back at school for the remainder of the year. Gosh the sacrifices we moms make! The Pastor then asked if he could share the good news with any media that may contact him. I told him that I would only be speaking with the lovely Erika Chavez from the Sacramento Bee and not the media until Monday. (I just wanted a quiet weekend!) Well in the next 5 minutes I got 4 phone calls from news and radio telling me they had just recieved a call from Pastor Cole...was it true I was quitting? I called the Pastor back and told him I said I didn't want to do another media circus and he said he misunderstood and oh, how sorry he was!
So much for him wanting to handle it privately, eh? And as far as the mother taking it public, she didn't. The administrator of the website admits to having done it without her knowledge or permission.
I am not knocking school .. they have every right to their religious beliefs which is why it is called private school
Don't you just hate it when someone trangsresses your own personal moral code and gets away with it?
Personally, I don't dance, but any church that bans drinking and smoking
sure as hell ain't getting my dollar in their collection plate on Sunday.
Save up a bunch to pay for your lung cancer/cirrosis operations.
.........napkins holder indeed!....
Thank you. We all had our suspicions and now we know.
I homeschool to keep my children innocent, and cannot condemn parents for attempting to create a more innocent environment for their children through their church school. We left public school because we didn't want to hear about Heather's two mommies, and Joey's two daddies, and dare I say, stripper mom's lifestyle. The kids are only five!
I'm thankful she's taking a leave from stripping for the sake of her daughter...I pray she'll realize the seriousness of her initial decision though and find a decent job. It'll bless her daughter...and herself. I also pray for a truly repentant heart.
Nah, it only seems that way to paranoids. I'm just as happy when someone is driven from Islam, or Hinduism, or neo-paganism.
***That shouldn't be difficult in Northern California.
Do you live in Northern California? I know of *no* private Christian schools in the Sacramento area that would consider her profession acceptable. If there *is* one I'd sure like to know what school it is.
Ahhh...but will the atheists sign the Christian school Mission Statement and uphold it?
The school is based on a lovely campus complete with all the amenities a student could hope for. They use an accelerated curriculum known as Abeka, which is pricey for homeschoolers as well as private schoolers...but is a fantastic curriculum.
I think $400 is outrageous for kindergarten too...but it may include day care fees. I'll be calling the school Monday to inquire about costs since it's not on their website, and get back to the thread with more info.
The private Christian school my daughter attended in k-garten and half of 1st grade was $175 per month.
