There appeared a thread yesterday:
Fortuyn favoured depraved
It said that Pim Fortuyn was 'a powerful advocate or paedophilia'. The article in the Scotsman is based on an 1999 column of Pim Fortuyn.
The article there leaves out the things that make one understand what he is saying.
1. If it was true this was such a vile column, Elsevier would have never allowed it to be printed
2. If it was true this was such a vile column, the media an left parties would have brought it to the attention of people months ago. And by doing so stopping Fortuyn cold in his tracks before he could break down the left
3. If it was true this was such a vile column, and he is a sexual pervert, then way did nobody claimed the 2250 dollar reward a leftist organization awarded the first man that could bring out information about Fortuyn's sexual past that would descredit him. Not ONE single person managed to come up with anything.
I a furious, not about the article, but they way it was presented and pinged around.
This is exactly what led to the death of Pim Fortuyn in the first place, the demonization of the media and politicians, who lied and published selected half-true things, leaving out the rest.
He was murdered by a man who thought that shooting so was a good thing to do.

Please don't go, knighthawk.
I was very upset when FR was down on the fifteenth, because I was so looking forward to your reports on the elections. Little did I know you'd be talking about leaving forever two days later.
Take a break, if you must, but please don't stay away long. I always look forward to your posts, and this place will be a lot less interesting without your participation.

"Please don't leave. We need fighters now more than ever."
Yes, stay. The moveoners almost made me quit posting, but I came back. I mean, what the heck...
the Clinton/Gore/Bernard Schwartz Chinagate treason - may result in it being the end times for all of us, so what the heck...stick around! :)

Nice Opus.
To: knighthawk
I wish you well friend but I also wish you would stay and give us more reports from the Netherlands. Important things are happening in Europe now and it is great to have someone there in the thick of it, to tell us about it. Although I didn't agree with everything Pym stood for, he was right about immigration and Islam and I believe events in the near future will bear this out. He was a man ahead of his time, in some ways. He didn't run, he fought for his ideas, I wish you would do the same.

You said everything that I was thinking, but with much more eloquence than I could have. You have to stay, not only b/c of the important viewpoints that you have, but because you have a really cool screen name. I found your first-hand reporting during the assination to be invaluable. Don't go. There are plenty of asses here, but there are also some really good people here that want you to stay.

How many of us have learned through articles intended to mislead? That's a lot of what the Free Republic is about...we read and re-read, sift and compare, no easy chore going through volumes of material.
We need you, knighthawk, I need you! I came here and have stayed here to learn, and you are a part of that process.
An artist will tell you that, without dark, one can't see the light. One is as important to the overall picture as the other.

Please reconsider.
To: knighthawk
Knighthawk, as long as I've been here, I've never seen anyone's goodbye/Opus post cause so many Freepers to respond begging the person to stay. Usually they just get laughed at. I hope you take this into consideration as to just how important you are around here.

knighthawk, please reconsider.
Your insights and reports are invaluable. I look forward to your posts, even if I don't always get an opportunity to respond.
I did't realize until just now how much I do admire and respect you.
You don't miss your water 'til your well runs dry.

Instead you are being praised. There is no shame in coming back. knighthawk, Rebelbase said it much better than I could. Take a break. Then come back. Please.
We cannot afford to lose another American like you!
What is an American?
An American is a person who believes in liberty, pursuit of happiness, and justice for all. Believe me, you are an true American!
This country needs you, in this dark, cold world, America is the light at the end of the tunnel because people like you sought to preserve the ideals that made America great!
Even though you're Dutch, you are much more Americanized than nearly all of the citizens in this country. After all, how many people still care about the Constitution these days?
Don't go, we need you more than ever.

Last evening, after you'd gone to bed, there were some of us that attacked the Scotsman article. I expected that you'd come in today and rip it to pieces. I didn't think you'd run off. That's very disappointing, but thanks for the education in Dutch politics. The elections looked very encouraging, a harbinger of European awakening, perhaps. Your reports were very informative and appreciated. Good luck, and thanks again.

We few, we happy few.
knighthawk,
We simply make the same request that about 100 embattled soldiers at Rourke's Drift
made to some Boer scouts:
"Don't Leave! We need you!"
Don't ride off for good.
History sings about those 100 soldiers and doesn't pay much attention to the Boers
who rode away (sensibly) to safety.
If the historical allusion doesn't ring bells with anyone...rent a video copy of
of the movie "Zulu" tonight.
(If nothing else, you'll enjoy seeing Michael Caine in his film debut...and d-mned
fine one at that!)
