Prayer Request-My Sister's Terminal Lung Disease

My sister was diagnosed with a rare lung disease on Friday, Interstatial Lung Disease. The prognosis is terminal. She is only 29 and in otherwise good health.

Appearantly, an infection, the nature of which is unknown, is producing a constant state of pneumonia. Since the doctors don't know the nature of the infection, they can not stop it. It is causing scar tissue to form all throughout the lungs. Scar tissue isn't very elastic and will not permit oxygen to travel from the lungs to the blood.

End result is that the doctor said in 1 to 2 years she will suffocate.

Requesting prayers for her and any medical info that could be of help/leads in stopping this infection before it ruins the remaining lung tissue.

My prayers continue for her. Miracles do happen, but if the Lord wants her to derve another purpose she will be with him soon. Take healing in knowing she will be well taken care of and without pain. Prayers, HOB

Pegita, Thank you. I have read everyone's emails and everyone's posts. I haven't had a chance to respond to all the private emails yet, but I will. Sarah's husband has printed out the thread list and a word doc of the private emails....they will go over it at a conference with Sarah's doctors. Thank you all for your prayer, support and advice.

Wow Arne. Thank you! Her husband will pass this along to her. Even though she is paralized and druged, her blood pressure does indicate she hears and reacts to people around her. I believe her husband will take your comments to heart and use them to bolster her resolve. Thanks very much...God Bless you.

I'm sorry, I obviously read your first post and missed your recent update. My little rah-rah speech seems embarassingly silly in light of her current status. I'm sad her health has deteriorated so quickly ... I'll pray for you and Sarah and all of your family.

Griffin, I'm saying prayers for you and your sister. A few words regarding searching for medical information: I've been researching my own medical situation, which leads to kidney failure without intervention. I found some excellent journal articles and learned of doctors who specialize in my set of problems, but I ran into lots of roadblocks when I tried to contact them.

I suggest you write down all the info you have in a short, concise format so you can present your facts when you do reach their offices by phone or letter. Many of these places don't have appointments open for many months, and since everyone calling them is probably also really sick, you have to make a good case when you speak to them. It has been a very frustrating experience, so don't give up if you get the door slammed in your face a few times as I did.

Lord, bring Your strength and healing hand down to Mjaye. Heal the sickness that resides in his body. Fill Mjaye with your love and faith in You and remove the anxiety. Heal Mjaye's kidneys and ease his family's worries. Lead him to doctors to whom You have granted wisdom so that they might find the cause of this disease. Let Mjaye to those doctors through whom You work. Thank You for hearing my prayer Lord! In Christ's name I pray. Amen.
