1 Terrorist in Custody in Beersheba Terror Attack (IsraelNN.com) Police have apprehended one terrorist involved in the Beersheba bomb attack near the Bank Hapoalim in the Old City of the southern municipality. Emergency medical service officials report three persons sustained light injuries in the attack that took place at the corner of Histadrut Street.
A second terrorist is the subject of a manhunt at this time.
According to Police Superintendent Kopel, it appears the terrorists threw bomb(s) or grenade(s) and then opened fire at passersby. The entire area is closed to vehicular traffic and police are urging all pedestrians to distance themselves from the area as a manhunt for one terrorist is in progress.

JERUSALEM, May 10, 2002 (AP Online via COMTEX) -- An explosion was heard in the southern Israeli city of Beersheva early Friday, and Israel Radio reported there were casualties.
It was not immediately clear what caused the blast, which the radio said occurred near a bank branch in the desert city 40 miles south of Jerusalem.
Israel Radio quoted police in Beersheva as saying the explosion was a terrorist attack near the Bank Hapoalim building. One suspect was captured and another escaped.
An ambulance that arrived at the scene reported three people were lightly injured, said Yerucham Mandola, a spokesman for the Israeli national ambulance service, Magen David Adom.
A suicide bombing Tuesday, carried out by the militant Palestinian group Hamas, left 15 Israelis dead in the Israeli city of Rishon Letzion.

Rush Limbaugh wants to know how many have to die before Bush says Arafat is a terrorist.

Thankfully this one wasn't as bad as the previous attack, but this won't be the last, I'm afraid.

Damnit, Rush is going too far...
LMAO. Yep, I've posited the same question. Perhaps after Bush can't stand for election again, he'll grow some nads.

More: Passersby Apprehended Terrorist (IsraelNN.com) Passersby near the Bank Hapoalim in Beersheba earlier today successfully apprehended one of the terrorists responsible for the bomb attack. Eyewitnesses describe hearing a loud explosion, and within seconds identified the terrorists. Without concern for their own safety, they tackled one of the terrorists, began punching and kicking him in an effort to neutralize him. One male involved tore open his shirt to be certain he was not wearing an explosives belt, which he was not. The second terrorist escaped and is currently the subject of a large manhunt in the area. Police at this time remain uncertain if the terrorists threw a bomb or grenade

I'm glad to hear that they weren't hurt too bad, and there were no deaths.
