O'REILLY RAGE AFTER STATION PAYOUT IS REVEALED; WESTWOOD ONE THREATENS TO PULL CASH; FOX NEWS HOST ADVISES: 'DRUDGE SHOULD BE KILLED'
Although VIACOMCBSINFINTYWESTWOODONE radio head Joel Hollander publicly denied to reporters that compensation was being paid to affiliates for carrying O'Reilly -- behind the scenes on Tuesday, Hollander threatened to pull the payout guarentee to WOR, blaming the station for the DRUDGE REPORT leak...

O'Reilly is self-obsessed and doesn't have a sense of humor. I don't think he'll be successful at radio--esp. if he insists on going against Rush.

Thats the whole point, what has Drudge ever been good for except spreading rumor. He got big after he was gutsy enough to buck the establishment on the Clinton thing, but since then it has been one big childish attempt to get attention, without regard for facts standing in the way.

I dont think Drudge is wrong at all for what he is now doing.
I like O'Reilly and I dont mind him having his own radio show....when Drudge first broke the story....I thought it was a little sneaky considering that Rush was having medical problems but I was fully pursuaded that Limbaugh could handle him.
Eitherway...
O'Reilly started screaming bloody murder that Drudge was this and Drudge was that [We all watched that episode of the factor when O'Reilly flamed Drudge].
I had a feeling then that Drudge was on to something.
Now what do you know....
Here comes the show. The fact that O'Reilly approached David Limbaugh doesnt mean anything. All this is is a continuation of the plans thast Drudge had first dug up eight months ago.
O'Reilly went on TV and lied about it..........just like Clinton.
I have lost a little bit of respect for O'Reilly as a result of this.
He should've been a standup guy when whoever approached him the first time around and said "I dont want to discuss this until we see what happens with Limbaugh" or he should've been upfront and said "Yeah....I'm gonna do it".
His lying about the whole thing is lame.
I dont listen to much talk radio anyway.....but I will definitely not listen to this show.

They could? I think the chances are a little better than could.

Why do we pay attention to drudge anyway? Most of his stories are links straight out of others publishers websites. What good is that? Good as a portal maybe, but not for anything you can't find elsewhere.

Rush would crush O'Reilly but at least there would be another halfway salient voice taking up airtime instead of some halfbaked Liberal Chompskyite.

"...Remember how he tried to destroy Bush's reputation at the beginning of the campaign by spreading unsubstantiated rumors about him? ..." oh c'mon, bush is a politician..

since when is radio untouchable because of Limbaugh? I say that anyone that wants a spot on the radio should have it if they earn it. dont know why this has to be personal, like poor multi-millionaire rush will get his feelings hurt. if he does then tough, i think he is a big enough guy to handle it, atleast i'd hope he is.

Listen People, I know that both of these guys are not saints, and have their different views, but we really need to pull together! I am talking about ALL Conservatives, and Libertarians! We do not need to give the Liberal Socialist Party, or their News Organizations more "ammo" agaist us. My personal thoughts are that O'R is a fake Conservative, although he puts on a good show sometime.

The only person on the list to reply was O'Reilly, and it was the only email I've ever received from him.
Was he factual/blunt in his reply or a jerk?
To: Partisan Hack
Drudge has a nice set of links to news sources (except for not having FreeRepublic anymore). But other than that he's pretty darn uninteresting. O'Reilly is over the top but he holds people's feet to the fire pretty good. I'll have to go with O'Reilly.

Wonder if this rivalry goes back to the earlier days of Fox News when Drudge was one of the hosts and ultimately had to leave. O'Reilly stayed and got bigger while Drudge was sent back to the minors (the internet). He probably feels that O'Reilly is now invading his turf--first with his opinion columns (JWR?) and now radio.

Tampa would be a great pick--and everyone in the family would like coming to this convention given the other amusement options available.
After all, Miami helped put Nixon over the top in 1972 (although the dems poor behavior in Chicago and the Reps own trickery helped...)

I don't see how anyone can take any satisfaction from watching these two guys in a cat fight that's self-defeating for each.
I don't care if they're both just nominal conservatives or whatever category we place them in. It's a FACT that both of them have national air time. And at least they're not on the dark side like Begala and Carville.
What good does it do our cause to snicker and hope one eats the other up or vice-versa? They're both acting like hysterical kids to their own detriment, and we shouldn't lick our chops over this. The liberals will be licking theirs.

"Matt Drudge's job is to report the facts.Bill O'Reily's job is to report the facts.
Both of them will express their opinions as humans. Unlike the liberal media, they do not pretend otherwise."
Nope, Hunble, you got it wrong. Both O'Reilly and Drudge have the same "job" - to entertain. Any facts they report is part of the entertainment. If O'Reilly and Drudge do not entertain, their radio shows will shut down. It's as simple as that. Matt Drudge's web site reports news, but mostly sensational news focused upon politics, entertainments and gossip. And of course he has an advertisement or two for you to click on, and he urges you to support his advertisers.
If you don't believe any of this, then ask yourself: Does Bill O'Reilly and Matt Drudge want to buy the products and services you offer as you listen to them? Or is it the other way around. As Sonny revealed to "C" in the movie, Bronx Tale: 'Mickey Mantle don't care about you, kid; he don't pay to see you.'

Ok brite eyes, if Rush finally had to give up his radio show because of his illness, who would replace him?
The Bill Clinton Radio Show?
Bill O'Reily took up the flag and organized to keep our vital message on the Radio. Nobody expected Rush to recover, but thank God that he did!
What, you think it is easy or cheap to create a new Radio program? Once Bill O'Reily took up the standard, it took months to organize and finance this effort.
Rush has recover and is doing great today. Bill O'Reily did his best to help out when a hero of ours had fallen.
Because of the inertia inherent in this media, we now have this situation.
How dare you attack people who had the courage to step up and help out. What the heck did YOU do?
