I flew home from the Bahamas yesterday via Newark, NJ. It was the first time I've seen the New York City skyline without those beautiful twin towers jutting skyward. I was surprised at how sad and angry I became...almost like yesterday was Sept. 11, 2001.
My departure gate overlooked NYC. I felt like a rubber-necker at an automobile accident...I could look at nothing but the skyline.

I don't necessarily believe that there was a bomb on board even if the air traffic controllers DID hear that. Didn't all of the hijackers say that? It is the standard line to keep passengers from trying to rush the terrorists.

I think she just wanted to keep people from abusing it, cheapening what is a rallying cry, making a bunch of money off tacky t-shirts. That was my impression.

I think it also had something to do with her setting up a foundation to raise money for the victims.

I could be wrong, but that's how I recall it. Kind of like the folks who owned the flag that was raised by the firemen - they wanted to see that the flag did not end up getting auctioned off at e-bay.
