President Bush spoke to the press late this afternoon from the Western Whitehouse, confirming reports that both Israel and Arafat have agreed on a way to end the stand off at Arafat's headequarters. Arafat has agreed to hand over six wanted terrorists to US and British officials while the Israelis have agreed to let Arafat free and to pull out of Ramallah. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

The Saudi prince showed the President those pictures to let him know what they werre dealing with with the Arab press and the masses being whipped up by propaganda.

Maybe so .. but it is pretty stupid of The Prince of Thiefs to make ANY kind of threat to this President or to the American People .. especially after 9/11 .. remember these murders were Arabs .. and we have NOT forgotten ..

I did not realize this. However, I find it a bit odd as the press is State controlled isn't it? No matter. I agree with you totally about TIME and disinformation. The latest article points that out in spades!

Our President Bush is the finest man to occupy the White House in many years. I pray that maybe he can be the one to bring the Middle East around to peace and harmony. Only a Godly man could do that and I do believe President Bush is the one!

Amen to that!

While I can't talk for OhioWfan, I would say that she doesn't "love" GWB

Well, I love him, but I don't love him, if you know what I mean! LOL!

The English language is sorely lacking in this area. I love pizza, I love my cats, and I love my husband, too!

Prayers for continual spiritual refreshment for our dear Prez.

Your post reminded me of an e-mail I received this week from the Presidential Prayer Team

"WE ENCOURAGE EVERY MEMBER OF THE PRESIDENTIAL PRAYER TEAM TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER, NEXT THURSDAY, MAY 2ND. THIS IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR THE PRESIDENT AND TO UNITE WITH OTHER PRAYING AMERICANS. TO HELP YOU PREPARE FOR THAT EVENT, DOWNLOAD AND PRINT THE FREE GUIDE FROM OUR WEBSITE AND DISTRIBUTE IT TO YOUR CHURCH, CLASS, OR COLLEAGUES."

WE Guilders and Dosers could join in this wonderful effort to pray for this man we respect so much.

From Foxnews.com:

CRAWFORD, Texas — President Bush heralded "a hopeful day" in the Mideast after personally brokering an Israeli-Palestinian deal to end the siege of Yasser Arafat's compound, and demanded that Arafat redouble his efforts to end terrorism.

With Arafat to be freed as part of the pact, Bush said, "Now is the time for him to step up."

"Chairman Arafat is now free to move around and free to lead, and we expect him to do so," Bush told reporters on his ranch here, after a weekend of quiet diplomacy led to his greatest accomplishment in trying to defuse the crisis. "One of the things he must do is condemn and thwart terrorist activities."

But with stalemates and a setback on other fronts, Bush cautioned: "Much hard work remains and this is a time for all of us to commit to fight terror and to promote peace in the Middle East."

Bush called Sharon Saturday — three times, according to the Israeli government — and dispatched diplomats to negotiate directly with Arafat. Sharon will visit the White House in early May, said White House spokesman Sean McCormack.

Bush won agreement on his proposal that U.S. and British nonmilitary personnel guard six Palestinians who are wanted by Israel on assassination charges and are being kept in Arafat's headquarters at Ramallah, besieged for a month.

In return, Israeli troops would withdraw from Ramallah and Arafat would be allowed to leave his compound and move freely in the Palestinian areas of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Both sides approved the proposal on Sunday. Rest of article here

This was not a threat. It was an explanation of the difficulty they are having.

The Sauudis do not control all the Arab television. Much of it comes in from other countries and is impossible for them to control, since most of the middle and upper classes have satellite dishes.
