For years, I kept the Rush Limbaugh Show on for three hours a day. Partly as background noise while I worked, but also for entertainment and information.
I always found Rush to be a bit more of a Republican than a Conservative, while I'm more of a bit more of a Conservative than a Republican. But most of the time we agreed, and even when we didn't - - I found him to be entertaining.
In recent weeks, Rush's show has become almost nonstop pro-Isreali propaganda. That would be fine, if it were not so boring.
In our area, there is no other political talk on the radio during this time slot.
Two weeks ago, I joined some of my other friends (also Rush defectors) and tuned into to sports talker Jim Rome.
I listened to the Smack Off today and found it somewhat entertaining.
Perhaps my addiction to politics has been broken.
Any clones out there?
How does my giving moral support to Israel hurt our military in Bahrain? The Islamic world would still hate us even if I didn't support Israel. It's not anything new. il-Ilahi the war-god has been trying to conquer the civilized world since the death of Mohammed in 632.
Mohammed's successor Abu bakr declared that anyone who apostosized from Islam would suffer the death penalty. He went from village to village to enforce his decree. This policy was enforced for centuries, and it is still invoked today--even if rarely. But anyone who considers leaving Islam, even in the countries you mentioned, faces total rejection by other moslems, to such an extent that apostasy is very rare. These are the people I should side with?
I cannot see turning my back on the only people in the region who don't act this way.
And then there was Caliph Omar, who began the great arab conquests, and whose only goal was the destruction of the civilized world said, "It behooves us to devour the Christians and our sons to devour their descendants, so long as any of them remain on the earth."
This line of thinking has been passed down from generation to generation, and although some liberal Jews hate Christians, it pales in comparison to the hatred that the followers of the moon god have.
I save thinking for problem-solving.
Just embrace your ant-semitic beliefs and you will be much happier.
In what year did you graduate from Al Sharpton's summer camp? You seemed to have mastered the art of debating by defaming.
Because Rush supports the victims of Arab terrorism, he is a shill for Israel...that is your opinion, so mine is following your exact ridiculous logic...ye anti-Semite ye.
No, you are the anti-Semite!
Hey, that is easy. I win! I win! You are an anti-Semite, a racist, and a bigot.
What is so wrong with how I listen?
I have been a faithful Rush listener since he debuted here in April 1990 and I still listen often. But right now reality is just too much. I need some escapist fluff that makes me laugh to break up the day. I deal with the real world from the time I wake until 11:00 am central time. I then re-enter the real world at 2:00 pm and stay until I go to sleep. The other three hours are spent on Jim Rome's silly planet.
The smackoff today was great. Glad Jeff in Richmond won. Glad Trapper never called in.
But you are the bigot.
I really think Jeff's call was the best--and it improved the second time I heard it.
Jesse Jackson III, aka rbmillerjr, shows great promise. His limited debate skills do not discourage him from calling other kids "anti-semites, racists and bigots." Despite his limited intelligence, he shows great promise because of his ability to quickly spew these labels. We have encouraged Jesse Jackson III, aka rbmillerjr, to stick to this simple strategy and to not be afraid to use the labels (racist, anti-semite, bigot) twenty or thirty times in one argument if necessary. Due to his limited intelligence, we have also encouraged him to stay away from all facts. They will only confuse him as they sometimes confuse me. He has a promising future.Al Sharpton
Excellent. Nothing personal rbmillerjr, it's just this was a classic flame. Worthy of plagiarism by me.
I have only listened consistently for the last two weeks. In the past, I've heard him only because a friend would have him on in the car. Many of my friends went to see him at a tour stop a couple years back and I thought they were all nuts. But after listening for two straight weeks, I have to admit it is an entertaining show and the Smack Off was great.
Prima facie dude, no reason to debate you.
Actually I've never seen you discuss or debate an issue, just provide the comic relief of limp intellectual masturbation such as the above post.

Thanks. I'm out.
