Just reported that a small engine plane crashed into a Skyscraper in Milan Italy
Huh? If you mean sneak on board, take out the pilot, then install a remote control device and bail out of the plane while some other conspirator(s) take control from the ground, I'd say you've watched too many James Bond movies.
How about...suicide bomber charters a flight, kills the pilot (or IS the pilot, having rented the plane), and drives it into a building? Think that one is more plausable? (Hint: 9/11, teenage pilot, dozens of suicide bombers in Israel, ...)
We're not dealing with a particularly high-tech group here. We're not dealing with people who want to live a long life, and who have money and training and motivation to construct complex high-tech devices & schemes reminiscent of James Bond. These are people who are content to live in caves and kill themselves in the hope that they might take someone with them.
In the absence of anything better at this time, that is the most likely explanation.
C'mon! It has only been 3 hours since it happened! Proper fact-gathering takes longer than a shower.
True...much better statement (and less costly) to take out a tire manufacturer. That's a bold statement in and of itself. A symbol of the wheels that the economy runs on, signifying they are taking down the economy.
Hey, if everybody else is going to have a conspiracy, I must have one as well!
No kidding? Maybe he was just a tad low on his glidepath.
And don't even tell me that that is not likely, because you would be dead wrong.
This building is reported to be "a symbol of Milan, Italys financial capital"... sort of like the WTC in NYC. It is also the tallest building in Italy... sort of like the WTC in NYC. If you want to make a statement in Italy like you did in the U.S.A. - it sounds like this is the building to hit.
AH HA! Look at these.
In pictures: Milan plane crash
Wreckage from the plane, which had been flying from the town of Locarno in Switzerland, lay in pieces.
The Italian interior minister said it was "probably an accident".
It's the tallest building in Italy, so it sure would get the attention of Italy. (Why Italy? That's the part I don't understand.)
The Vatican is not a tall, easily-hit item. May also be hard to see from a distance. Consider that the DC 9/11 plane flew right over the White House - a likely and distinctive target, yet hard to see from the air. Instead, they went for the Pentagon: a huge unmistakable building with wide open spaces around it. The Vatican is likely not quite so large, distinctive, visible, or surrounded by low open spaces.
Also - so far - Bin Laden & Co.'s rhetoric has said nothing about religious differences, i.e.: Islam vs. Catholicism. They're not after devout Christians, they're after agnostic/athiestic capitalists - hence the focus on places of business and politics.
According to this thread, Islamics want to wipe out all non-Islamics, and start a holy war, etc. etc. etc. etc. So they hit a government building instead of the Vatican - okay, if it were terrorists, which nobody on this thread knows, even if they slept in a Holiday Inn Express or played a flight sim, why would they pass up the chance of taking out a spiritual symbol for almost a billion of the world's population?
I'm wondering if the pilot hadn't passed out by the time he hit the building. If there was fire aboard as some reports are saying, there was probably a lot of smoke and he may have lost consciousness.
Hey, HEY, I think you're on to something here...wait a minute...wasn't there some kind of boxer rebellion I read about in school?!?
I have a hard time accepting this, according to many at FR, Islamics are out to wipe out Christians and Jews.
Being a capitalist doesn't make you an atheist or agnostic btw.
We are definitely on to something!!!!! The Chinese were involved weren't they??????
