LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- A handful of die-hard "Star Wars" fans already have started lining up to see the next movie in the sci-fi saga -- more than a month before it opens.

"We're just really persistent people," said Luis Lecca, a martial arts instructor who has spent eight hours a day waiting and braving hecklers. "We see something we want to do and we do it."

It's been done once once before in the 70's, in a psychedelic cartoon version by Ralph Bakshi. But this is the first time it's been attempted in live action. And I'd call it brilliant.

Probably fewer times than the Star Wars tale has been done--SW is just a retelling and rehashing of medieval grail myths...with a lot of pyrotechnics thrown in.

You have to be careful when you say "saw "it" " - Remember, you are on a shamelessly hijacked Star Wars thread.

Star Wars is fine ...but Tolkien is magic

You nailed it. And Jackson, to his credit, so preserves that magic. He had the good sense to trust his material. (And I think a little healthy fear of the gigantic fan base didn't hurt any!) No movie has captivated me so.

It's sort of the difference between a story and a Story.

You know, when we see these guys on Tuesday, I think we should talk to them...

The one on the left is fairly cute! - I have a little experience in Social Work, so maybe I can help him get a job and find a more fulfilling pursuit!

Well, click on the "To 2" and the context is there. I do tend to lean on people's ability to click. (c8

LOL, I was thinking the same thing (about the guy on the left).

Wonder if they've seen LOTR and how many times, and how they've managed to convince themselves that Ep2 will still be better...

Wish I had that kind of free time to sit around and wait for a crappy film to come out.

Hey, I cried like a 14 year old girl at Titanic. No way anything featuring Yoda's screwy grammatical constructions is going to do that to me.

The only liquid Episode I elicited was vomit.
