The voice of reason, of decency, of moderation and sanity. No wonder this historic speech was not reported or commented on by any of the major media. I searched the web and couldn't find any reference to it. If I hadn't been listening to exerpts of it on Rush, I would have never heard about it. And yet, this could be one of the most historic speeches of our time. Yet, all but ignored by the world. Truly, Netanyahu is like a voice crying out in the wilderness. Meanwhile, our government has sent Colon Powell on the APPEASEMENT OF TERRORISTS WORLD TOUR and is spouting worn-out phrases about "peace in our time" and "land for peace."

Just thought y'all would like a copy of this speech for your archives.

I checked our local paper, the Asbury Park Press, and found it covered...barely. Page five, about a sixteenth of a page. The senatorial comment with it was from Joe LIEberman.

Question: Why is it suddenly politically correct to hate Jews? Huh?

Benjamin Netanyahu was deposed by the people of Israel for meeting with the same Arafat and promoting Oslo Lite. It appears he got their message. I am one who does believe in second chances and it is refreshing when someone sees the error of their ways. It is all the more important to remove Arafat from power and establish a security cordon to protect Israel from the threat of reactivated terrorism in the future. Netanyahu is absolutely correct about one issue: no political process and no peace will be possible in the Middle East as long as Arafat and the regime he heads remain around to wreak more havoc. To quote from President Bush himself, "enough is enough." We must deal with all terrorists everywhere according to the same basic principle: they must be consigned to absolute, total, and utter destruction. There must be no compromise with them and their ilk. They must not be accorded legitimacy or be rewarded for their violence. The time to stop them is now.

The moral clarity emanated from an ironclad definition of terror and an impregnable moral truth. Terrorism was understood to be the deliberate targeting of civilians in order to achieve political ends. And it was always unjustifiable. With a few powerful words, President Bush said all that needed to be said: ‘Terrorism is never justified.’ . . . With that simple premise and those stirring words your great President breathed new life into the 50 year quest for the realization of "Eretz Yisra’el". The struggle for that Godly goal can now be couched in new terminology - a great and good terminology handed us by your great President Bush.

Prior to the calamity of 9/11 we were stumbling along in our attempts to make the world see that our cause was just and moral. Large segments of the world did not understand that "God gave that land to ME". The rest of the world thought that there was room for debate over the provisions of that Divine Title to our Promised Land.

Now, thanks to the stirringly simple concept of "good VS evil" and "There is no such thing as a good terrorist", we may, with clear conscience and world acclaim, move on the "Eretz Yisra’el".

May God bless your great nation and your great President. (putz!)

Colon Powell on the APPEASEMENT OF TERRORISTS WORLD TOUR

Colon Bowel is fitting for a scared sh!tless humanitarianist compassionate conservative "warrior", who abandons jurisdiction by throwing his arms up or streching them out, whining "peace" "peace", only to find those Marines arms targeted and cut off.

Humanitarian war is our failure. We should assert jurisdiction, instead we assert terrorist identities and recognioze them for humanitarian reasons.

I am concerned that the State of Israel, that has for decades bravely manned the front lines against terror, is being pressed to back down just when it is on the verge of uprooting Palestinian terror.

These concerns first surfaced with the appearance of a reprehensible moral symmetry that equates Israel, a democratic government that is defending itself against terror, with the Palestinian dictatorship that is perpetrating it.

The deliberate targeting of Israeli civilians is shamefully equated with the unintentional loss of Palestinian life that is the tragic but unavoidable consequence of legitimate warfare.

Worse, since Palestinian terrorists both deliberately target civilians and hide behind them, Israel is cast as the guilty party because more Palestinians have been killed in Arafat’s terrorist war than Israelis.

No one, of course, would dare suggest that the United States was the guilty party in World War II because German casualties, which included millions of civilians, were twenty times higher then American casualties.

So too, only a twisted and corrupt logic would paint America and Britain as the aggressors in the current war because Afghan casualties are reported to have well exceeded the death toll of September 11.

My concern deepened when, incredibly, Israel was asked to stop fighting terror and return to a negotiating table with a regime that is committed to the destruction of the Jewish State and openly embraces terror.

Yasser Arafat brazenly pursues an ideology of policide – the destruction of a state –and meticulously promotes a cult of suicide.

I happen to be of the humble opinion that Bush actually DOES support Israel more than his words
recently would indicate. Some have said he has betrayed Israel, but I will reserve judgment for
a later time, after the events going forward have revealed themselves.

IMHO, I think (and hope) that there are Middle Eastern politics at play by Bush regarding
the upcoming attack on SADdam Hussein in Iraq and his removal. This expresses it quite well........
(Thanks for the post and ping, ppaul!)
Oh! And I would welcome good, reasoned feedback on this, folks! Thanks.....

I ask you to stand by Israel’s side in its fight against Arafat’s tyranny of terror, and thereby help defeat an evil that threatens all of mankind.

Netanyahu is right on the money. It is my firm belief that the Bush administration, including Powell, are in complete agreement. We will stand by Israel.

That our media completely ignored this speach is a story in itself, and goes a long ways towards explaining our current dilemma in the middle east. Somehow, President Bush must keep the country behind the war on terrorism while we get ready for round two. Our media have a known liberal bias, which makes this doubly difficult.

We are clearly not yet ready to take on Saddam, and so we must buy time even in the face of extreme provocation. We have succeeded so far, but the outcome is very much in doubt. If Arafat, Saddam, OBL's ghost, and their many insane friends can provoke a regional war before we are ready, they are much more likely to win.

They know this, and they are trying desperately to provoke a general war. The resulting outrages are almost beyond belief.

We have learned many things. One is that Europe (especially France) is much more cowardly and anti-semitic than many of us realized. Another is that most Muslims are unwilling to condemn their terrorist cousins. Those Muslim nations that are willing to stand on the side of civilization, such as Turkey, are few and far between.

There can never be a political solution for terror. The grievance of terrorists can never be redressed through diplomacy. That will only encourage more terror.

Amen and amen.

This man is the bright shining light of truth in this dark and murky cesspool of death.

Here is a link to his speech on 9/25 (two eeks after 9-11) to the US COngress that he refers to early in this speech:

Netanyahu Speech to Congress - 9/25/01

Regards.

It truly was an historic speech. So much substance, not cliché like Bush unfortunately falls in to. I hate that "yin and yang" thing he gets going, "We will soar to the heights, not sink to the lows, we will have hope, not despair" on and on.

This speech was accurate, honest, powerful, moving, truthful. When I think of the caliber of speech we get from too many of our politicians this man makes them look like selfish, egotistic, ignorant two year olds who, unfortunately again, can talk.
