I think America needs to open its borders to Mexico so that there is not even a border patrol. America is the land of opportunity and freedom. That should be the case for EVERYONE. Not just those that are citizens. There should be nothing seperating people from the opportunity that America offers. It is wrong not to share the wealth America has.

Sorry Paul, the contradiction is as naked as can be. Perhaps you should turn the computer off and think a little harder about what you believe, before starting your own vanity post. Did you really think you would get through this without looking rather foolish? The problem with Liberals is they never think about the consequences after they've had their "brillian idea."

I can see now I need more ammo. Can a Garrand be water cooled?

There are some cities in Mexico like Monterrey where life isn't too bad -- if a middle class can almost be achieved there, then why not for more of Mexico (but inside Mexico)?
Actually it would be far better for Mexicans to have Americans come south, bring the US culture into Mexico and build it up. NAFTA isn't helping, but if Americans could build up some of that coastal land and bring in high productive farms, it would be a good thing for Mexico and it's people.

So no Mexican comes to America legally? They are all being lumped together. They are not even given the chance to get here to apply for citizenship.

America needs a healthy influx of immigrants. That has always been one of this country's strengths. But always with a limit as to what we need. Never up to the breaking point. I can't expect the immigrants to understand that but Americans should. The very thing that makes America a great country is also what would be broken if immigration was unlimited. We wouldn't be that "paradise" anymore but just another run down has been almost 3rd world country.
In simple terms, liberal policies sound and feel good but they are unworkable. They always kill the goose.

A border patrol is a form of intimidation. That's what I meant.

Don't think the 9-11 terrorists came by way of Tiajuana.

Mexico is not my concern. Letting people have a chance at a better life is. It should be ---because the answer isn't for each and every last person in Mexico to get a good life in another people's land. There's a lot of wealth there and there's no good reason for it to be a pathetic third world country that no one wants to live in.

Believe me. Mexico is more Americanized than you think. It is tough to see from here, but if you vacation there, you will see that many things are the same.

So I guess you must leave the doors to your residence always wide open also to provide the world equal opportunity to your assets and family?
If they come here legally I don't mind. If they come across illegally they are crminals and it should be considered part of an invasion.

Most Mexicans were living in mud huts, or the equivilant when my ancestors came to this country. Guess what? Most of them, in Mexico, are still living in the same.
Is that really what we need to import, wholesale, into this country? I think not.
I think that you and your fellow "progresives" do not want to elevate the rest of the world to our level. I am convinced that you wish to drag us down to the level of the rest of the world. Can you provide evidence to the contrary? I am doubtful.
I think that you are perhaps an enemy of everything I hold dear.

Some came through El Paso ----they know that because several terrorists had phones with area code "915" which meant they had some kind of link with El Paso on the Mexican border.

Fine, but people here are suggesting we "close" the border to everyone. Yes. Do you understand why now? We are at war. That is why people are suggesting that we close the borders.
