All,
Just talked to Jim Bryant Chief, Division of Water and Lands at BOR and here's what he said:
Gail Norton, Ann Vennamen, and Gordon Smith will be here Friday March 29th to officially open the headgates. The press release that Jim had from DOI said that all will happen between 9:30 to 10:45 AM.
I checked the DOI website for the press release and it hasn't been posted yet. Will let you know more as I learn it.

I'll wait for the SCOTUS rulings to determine this, but if you've read Congressman Billybob's posts, that black mark will soon be completely erased, IMHO.
I didn't put him in there so we could get a political equivalent of Pickett's Charge. Bush has played this one quite well, and I do not see Olson and Ashcroft being terribly vigorous in their defense of this.

Sean,
I know you will be there in spirit, as I know where your are physically. Thank you so much for your endless "behind the scenes activity". Truths you exposed for those at who needed to see it at the right moments were priceless.

I think Washington has learned that ESA 'science' is flawed.

Thank God. It is about time.
In fact, it is passed time.

If we can just get people to stop demanding the political equivalent of Pickett's Charge, I'd feel better about our chances of getting the long-term solutions that will ensure something like Klamath never happens again.
We've got to fight smart. Running headlong into a firestorm is a sure way to end up burned.

Why is everybody celebrating?
There has been hours of credible, non biased, non political, non agendad research performed on the Klaamth Basin. ESA researchers have determined that farmers and the sucker fish cannot share this resource. The treasured species cannot tolerate fluctuating water levels, and is a cherished symbol of the Native American. You are celebrating the destruction of another of God's creatures that man cannot replace.
