I think it would be nice to collect a list of all of the things President Bush has accomplished thus far in his term. In an effort to provide FAIR and BALANCED coverage to President Bush's administration, I thought interested Freepers could post accomplishments, both large and small, which they appreciate.
Please do not hesitate to list EO's, roll-backs of EO's, regulation changes with which you are familiar, etc.
All positive accomplishments are welcome. If you have negative comments, please post them on the other thread. Thank you.
I, rdb3, support President George W. Bush, and I believe that he is a decent, honorable man.
AND I AIN'T EVEN A REPUBLICAN!
I am a member of The Southern Independance Party (yeah, that's right), yet I have absolutely no problem pointing to G.W. and saying that I'm proud that he's my President.
End of story.
Vera Bradley has a bag for everything, dahling.

Exactly. I even moved from Texas where he was certain to win, to a battleground state so that my vote would be more effective in helping Bush get elected. My efforts in time and money have been rewarded with a slap in the face.
Here's more proof he's doing great with his appointments (God help us if Gore was doing the nominating!):
From democrats.com:
"Bush Nominees May Spell Beginning of the End for the Environmental Protection Agency
26-Nov-01 Environment
"This past week, Bush quietly nominated two people to EPA posts -- so quietly in fact that the only place you'll probably see it is here. And with good reason. These two nominees make it painfully obvious that Bush wants to convert the agency into a big hollow barrel he can fill with corporate pork...Paul Gilman was one of the 'experts' who, in 1997 testified before Congress that, despite mounting evidence to the contrary, that there was no relationship between the presence of nearby power lines in communities and the documented increase risk of childhood leukemia and brain tumors in those communities...[Linda Morrison] Combs has been nominated as 'chief financial officer' of the EPA. She brings to the job not so much as an atom -- no, make that a quark -- of appropriate experience." So writes Cheryl Seal for Unknown News. "
confirmed March 22, 2002
PN1216 * ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY
J. Paul Gilman, of Virginia, to be an Assistant Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.
Confirmed February 13, 2002
PN1305 ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY Linda Morrison Combs, of North Carolina, to be Chief Financial Officer, Environmental Protection Agency.
I agree with you, but there are also those who are not included in the above "groups," who did vote for Bush, who are conservatives, who are legitimately disappointed, -- particularly with CFR -- but who are also entitled to voice their opinions, especially on the day that CFR is signed into law.
I think everyone's nerves are still pretty raw after 9/11 (as well they should be), and most of us realize that while politics may be a fascinating intellectual exercise, we are now truly in the fight of our lives, for both our freedom and our civilization. Compromise is very hard to swallow under these conditions -- ask the people who got bombed in Israel today.
btw....it was not meant as an insult.....thanks for your service.
That would be me. You don't see me defending it; I'm just tired of hearing "let's impeach Bush" types.
Why are the Bush bashers not posting over there? I believe it is because they want to demoralize as many people as posssible. I specifically explained this thread and provided a link to the Cave thread. My idea was to provide choices.
Bush detractors couldn't resist posting here. I also see they are accusing us of a sycophantic thread even though this thread was IN RESPONSE TO THEIR THREAD.
I did not go on to that thread. I thought this was a constructive way to handle the situation and try to elevate the tone of this forum. I still believe it should be possible to discuss issues without the insults, both to posters and to the President, that I have seen in this thread.
For those of you who hate President Bush or his policies, PLEASE leave this thread alone. We are all well aware of your opinioins, since they appear on every post discussing President Bush including the prayer thread. It is not civil to specifically flood a thread with posts when you have been requested not to do so.
I must conclude that this behavior is intended to drive supporters of the President off the forum. I am not leaving, and there are others who will stay as well.
Those of you who did not vote for President Bush but say he has lost your vote are simply being disingenuous. Some of your names I remember distinctly from the threads of the primaries, and I have a pretty good memory of who voted for whom. You are behaving in a dishonorable manner. Please, at least, admit your affiliation.
For those who are supporters of the President, please continue to post here, because I think a list of accomplishments is necessary. Eventually I will copy the accomplishments to a separate file and re-post a condensed version.
And for all of you, I would suggest that behavior of one's supporters is a true indication of the candidate one supports. Please remember that lurkers read these threads, and YOUR public image is all that someone might ever remember about your candidate.
His job approval rating is staying high and it's not because of Monica Lewinsky.
They are letting us know who they are, since they hardly come here at all except when they are just able to bash Bush. With a few noted exceptions, most of these people never supported him from the get go.
