I am not fan of Islam but you need to put it in a context. Shiite Muslims cut themselves in identification with their martyred hero. So this hurt is not directed at someone else and it is not an agression but rather self-mortification like it happens in Catholic countries when people try emulate holy martyrs or suffering of Christ.'
Paradoxically Shiite Muslims are closer to the Western Christian concepts of self-restrain and long suffereing. They are also closer in the more developed intelectual tradition including scholarship and assimilating elements of Greek philosophy. Study more before you make a judgment on this particular topic.
In Iran Christian churches are open and it is Saudi Arabia where Christianity is a crime.
That is in America only. In Europe most of physicians even cannot believe that in USA mass circumcision is being practiced. They would rather suspect that such a claim can be made only by someone who wants to slander America or is an antisemite.
And is practiced in the Catholic or Protestant countries. It is purely AMERICAN "custom" introduced by the medical industry few decades ago under various always changing health "reasons".
Sorry, I mistyped. Circumcision is NOT practiced in the Catholic or Protestant countries! Is NOT and is NOT EVEN HEARD about, with the exception when Old Testament, Muslims or Jews are being mentioned.
No. You and NeoCrusade need to put it in a context. There are many peaceful people who call themselves Muslims but don't have a clue that Islam teaches conversion by the sword. Those are the Muslims that don't read the Koran and don't read the Hadiths.
There were people in WWII and the Inquisition that said they were killing in the name of Christianity, but there's nothing in Christ's words or actions that would give them that justification. When Muslims kill in the name of Allah, though, it's a different story. Mohammed beheaded 800 Jews! Why? Because they wouldn't convert So when Muslims go out to kill infidels, they are following their prophet in word and deed.
Same as episiotomies, partum anesthesia, caesarians, tonsillectomies, hysterectomies....(yawn).
