Redford, like Baldwin, shows that you don't need intelligence to be an actor and you need not be a blonde bimbo to be an airhead.
To: kattracks
Redford is a business man that caters to the kind of people that eat that * up. What do you expect from a person that started the sundance theater? Do you know what kind of people are attracted to the sundance film festival? I'll give you a hint, picture the northwest......northern california, oregon, washington.
Actually, the quotes you posted could be taken either way(by me at least they could). If the same words came from pat buchanan, they would have a differnt meaning. But since they came from redford, I immediately assume the worst form of liberalism.

I think his stuff is crap in that catalog anyway.

Thanks kattracks :) and thanks for all the great posts.

Isn't that cute. They take two paragraphs out of Redford's letter, give no context, and excoriate him for their own exaggerated assumptions about what he wrote.
Move along, folks. Nothing to see here. CNS does not report News.
"Pardon me, Sir; your bias is showing!"

An excellent post. These leftist movie actors are America's Taliban.

My, aren't you cute. Why don't you enlighten us? It seems you don't agree with them, what parts don't you agree with? Why? Don't leave your opinion sticking up in the air with the rest of your ass.

Don't care for him as an actor, care even less for him as a philosopher.

Another no talent midget capitalist slamming the system that allows no talent midget capitalists to thrive.
If he is so GD "aware" how come he didn't organize a group of Hollywood no talent midget tough guys to hunt down Al Queda and put a stop to it?
Wouldn't I love to give this twerp a good backhander while he was right in mid-sentence!
Grrrrr

His stuff is crap, and it is WAY overpriced.
Easily double or triple the other typical catalog stuff.
All hippie motif and noble savage PC motif.
How funny that he thinks we are preoccupied with material things.
What a hypocrite.

This article is so full of excellent lines I don't where to begin. What a masterpiece of defining and describing the hypocrisy of the Hollywood-elite-left. Bravo. Thanks for posting this.

Not open or interested in others - other cultures, other views, other voices? Wow! Nice to see he has taken a good hard look at Hollywood hypocrisy. Maybe he will be more open to conservative views and voices now. Hmmmmm.....
To: TomGuy; TwakeIDFins
But but but ........ it must be out of context. Isn't there more to his statement? If it isn't reasonable and patriotic and orgasmically wonderful and dripping with the wisdom of the ages, it must be we who misunderstand. We should open our minds to his viewpoint and escape the bonds of our worldview . . . oh forget it, this is nauseating.

Well, that makes all the difference in the world-NOT!
To: kattracks
Perhaps we were too closed, too preoccupied to see it coming. When he says "we" who is he talking about?
I suppose he means that bunch of self-absorbed narcissist in Hollywood
who earn a millions pretending to be real people.
