Virginia FReepers! - Time to give John RINO Warner the Heave HO!
3/21/2002 | P8riot

Virginia Freepers - John RINO Warner has oversytayed his welcome! He has turned his back on the people of Virginia, and the United States. His betrayal of his oath to uphold the Constitution, by virtue of his vote in favor of the McCain-Feingold bill, has confirmed what alot of us already knew concerning his liberal leanings.

Fellow Virginians, now is the time to deal a blow for freedom in this Commonwealth, and the country as a whole. The United States, and the people of Virginia deserve someone who will look after their welfare, and their Constitutional Rights. Today let us begin the search for the man or woman of the highest character, who will hold to the highest ideals, and who will stand in the gap for all Virginians. Let us elect someone who will treat the Constitution with the highest respect, and will not compromise their beliefs based on political expedience, someone who will fight for the freedoms that we all hold so dear.

This great nation began in our Commonwealth. The lamp of freedom was kindled almost exactly two hundred sevenety seven years ago by no less a Virginian than Patrick Henry, the first governor of our free commonwealth, when he said:

"If we wish to be free-- if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending--if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained--we must fight!"

Our nation's struggle began here, and it ended here at Yorktown in 1781.Today we are engaged in another struggle, the struggle to preserve the freedoms for which so many of our countrymen gave their lives. This struggle may not be with the use of arms, but it is a war nevertheless. The struggle is against a philosophy that threatens the very fabric of our wills. Our heritage compels us to action, and our freedoms and livelyhoods demand it.

Let us go forward now, and deliver a message to John Warner that we hold him responsible for the errosion of freedoms in our land. Indeed, we are the only ones this side of judgement that can do this. Those in other states who are likewise disposessed must also do the same in regard to their representatives. Let us select such a person as will be the true representative of the people of our great Commonwealth. Let the search begin now. Contact the representatives, or other individuals, that you trust will uphold the highest ideals of our great Republic. Leave no stone unturned. We must not hold our peace now, or we will forced to do so forever.

I am amazed that not a single post noted Elizabeth Taylor's evauation of John Warner. It went something like "he's the dumbest bastard I ever met".

If I'd a read it I'd a said it.

Don't rip on him because he's young.

Well, okay, but can I rip him because he's from California?

Actually, neither the fact that he's young OR from California bothers me, until he starts to tell Virginians what to do. I'll rip any non-Virginian for that.

Just a few months ago, I was right where he was with John Warner. We need his seniority, we need his experience, we need this, we need that.

But I've had enough. I also emailed the President tonight and told him no CFR VETO and he may not see my vote, and certainly won't see my active support in 2004. I argued all through the election to "think of the alternative" to the third party supporters who didn't want Bush. Don't get me wrong, I love President Bush, sometimes you have to draw a line in the sand.

Here are the facts about John Warner's race for the Senate this year. The Democrats can't BUY a credible opponent. The only one who could come close is the current Governor. And while we know he'd rather be in the Senate, it's not going to happen this year.

There's no credible RAT opponent. There's no credible third party opponent. There's no credible GOP primary opponent. John Warner will win.

But it doesn't have to be a landslide. And it doesn't have to be with my vote.

How does Jacob G. Hornberger sound?

Sounds like who I'm voting for if they can't talk Warner into retiring. Anything else I might could forgive but Kosovo is unforgivable. I couldn't hold my nose hard enough to vote for Warner.

Hell Yeah!!! :)

I know assuming Bush signs this, I may or may not vote for him(depends who else runs), but I know that he won't see a dime of my money or my time. I'll spend my time campaigning for someone like Mike Rogers instead.

Well now, since you didn't come along until 1984 I guess I'll select "retrospect". *L*

Only kidding, SDDC. I think I know what you mean. So give me your opinions on both.

Well I think he came to the right place at the right time but if he would have won the nomination from Ford (Know that's what you call a RINO!, lol) he would have had to deal with the world-wide oil crisis, but I don't think the hostages would have been taken by Iran because they would have been too scared of Reagan at the time to do so.

No, if I had been able to vote in 1980, I would have voted for Reagan in the primary and Ford in the general election. It's as simple as that. There is nothing wrong with a classy, clean primary election. Reagan was both classy and clean. Remember his 11th commandment that nobody ever keeps these days.

Stupid rule and not one Pappy Bush honored either. Pappy had plenty of mud to sling for Ronnie. Jerry Ford in the 2000 Convention was quoted about Conservatives "Where else can they go?". I think the forefathers such as Hamilton and later Jackson would take exception to this rule as well. Personally I think it's garbage and a tool used to discourage consensus and encourage tyranny by silencing opposing views. In short IT'S A FORM OF CENSORSHIP!

You are free to have that opinion...I don't agree with you. I think John Warner is a very fine man that has served this nation in many ways. I would be proud to call him my senator, much better than 1 from this state, believe me.

Isn't it Warner that the other day said he wasn't sure he supported the President going after Sadam because he worried that it would provoke more attacks on the U.S.? Sounds kind of chicken*&%t to me.

Warner campaigned for Mark Earley. That's more than what I can say for Bush.
