Ted Maher -- former Special Forces; Neonatal Intensive Care nurse
American Green Beret veteran and accomplished neonatal nurse Ted Maher has now been held 537 days without trial in Monaco's prison on trumped-up and false charges -- charges of causing the deaths of billionaire banker Edmond Safra and Ted's fellow nurse, Vivian Torrente on December 3, 1999. In truth, Ted fought valiantly against two armed, masked intruders to defend Edmond and Vivian and save their lives. During the struggle, Ted suffered severe knife wounds that required one hundred staples to close.
Billionaire banker Edmond Safra was cooperating with the FBI, who was investigating the IMF/Russian loans. Needing a convenient scapegoat for the murder of Safra, Monaco police subjected Ted to three days of grueling torture designed to extort a false confession from him. (see description in "BASIC TIMELINE" in Thread 1 - http://206.112.97.70/forum/a3ad8b097272d.htm ).
Monaco continues to hold Ted incommunicado, preventing him from sending or receiving mail. In fact, they restrict his communication with his family to one telephone call a week. This call is only allowed to last a few minutes and is always monitored closely to prevent any discussion of the case. Ted is forced by his jailers to take a psychotropic medication and is regularly "interrogated" by the Monaco judge -- Patricia Richet. Reports have been received that Judge Richet is a violent person who has displayed unstable behavior in the past. She allegedly has a history of assaulting a fellow judge, putting him in the hospital for a week. She also tears up letters from Ted's children in front of Ted rather than let him read them.
Hundreds of family, friends, work associates, parents of patients, and Army veterans who served with Ted have vouched for him as being a loyal husband, loving father, and an exemplary professional of great skill and compassion. Ted has also been defended by then-chairman of the House International Relations Committee Ben Gilman and Ted's congresswoman Sue Kelly, who have written Prince Rainier III of Monaco on Ted's behalf. Monaco has no evidence of any crime by Ted; they have no witnesses and no credible case against him. Even worse, Monaco has planted false evidence and suppressed vast amounts of exculpatory evidence -- even passing a special Monaco law that enables them to hold Ted four years without trial.
The Geneva prosecutor has said that Safra was killed for his cooperation with the FBI regarding the laundering through Safra's Republic National Bank of $4.8 billion in IMF loans to Russia.
Regardless of the reason "why," it is obvious that Ted Maher is a scapegoat for a murder by others. We are working to obtain his release and to correct the grave injustice being done to an American Green beret veteran and medical professional.
Ted Maher -- a giver of life, not a taker -- needs our help.

That is being followed up on in a personal way nothing short of miraculous.

Capitaine Dreyfus was framed and imprisoned on Devil's Island--

Monaco prosecutor Daniel Serdet is a liar.
Serdet told Time.com's Thomas Sancton that Ted was on drugs.
Monaco's Princess Grace Memorial Hospital tested Ted for drugs and alcohol.
The results were negatif negatif negatif.
This was shown on national television November 21, 2000 on DatelineNBC "Who Killed the Billionaire?"
So we must treat Monaco prosecutor Daniel Serdet as Charles Laughton treated his witness in "Witness for the Prosecution":
In the movie "Witness for the Prosecution," Charles Laughton asks,
"The question is, were you lying then, are you lying now, or are you not, in fact, a chronic and habitual liar?"
Serdet's witnesses are all like that:
Lily paid off her nursing supervisor Sonia Casiano Herkrath with a $100,000 "confidentiality agreement"--
Sonia's three contradictory fire report depositions are the only evidence of the final moments of Edmond and Vivian.
Why should we believe the paid agent of the lucky widow when each report is different?
And to this day Sonia is still changing and adding details--
Now she says she told them to open a window!
The fire report states repeatedly that firemen were unable to break the category three bulletproof glass (four layers totalling over an inch in thickness).
Why didn't she say so in any of her three fire report depositions?
Were the police holding you in four-point restraint, catheterized and threatening your spouse and children?
We'll see Griffith at the trial as he's the only lawyer Ted's acknowledging.

Ted and his brother Michael come from a tradition of patriotic service, of devotion to duty.
Suddenly Ted was thrust into the virtual Medieval dungeon of police state Monaco, a black hole where light cannot escape.
And what a looking-glass world it became December 3, 1999.
Ted defended Edmond Safra and Vivian Torrent from two intruders--why wouldn't the police respond to his calls?
For that matter, why did one of the Safras, probably NOT Edmond, disconnect the burglar alarm July 1, 1999?
We know one of them did from the deposition of the head of Monaco Securite in the fire report.
We know that Lily sent all eleven members of Edmond's security team away to La Leopolda--
We know this from Israeli journalist Boaz Bismuth telling DatelineNBC's Sara James November 21, 2000 ("Who Killed the Billionaire?")
We know Ted couldn't have got the bottle of lidocaine planted in his room--he didn't have the authorization--but Sonia did--
Sonia Casiano-Herkrath was paid $100,000 "confidentiality fee" by Lily--isn't that special?
Sonia pencilled in Ted and Vivian at the last minute--
Ted couldn't have cut himself--look at the location of the wounds--oh, be assured Dr. Michael Baden will.
And the original clothes he wore were destroyed by the police--just like the emergency call tapes for that night--
In the U.S. if the police held someone three days in four-point restraint, catheterized, sleep-deprived, beaten (bruising noted by U.S. Consul)--
If the police threatened someone with harm to his wife and children--the case would be thrown out and the police would be on trial.
In Monaco if the magistrate questions the defendant without attorney present, the case is to be thrown out--
Yet Monaco director of juridical affairs Patrice Davost says is doesn't mean is, that the magistrate didn't interrogate Ted--
Now Monaco has selected three jurors and three judges--
A Monaco judge recently resigned in disgust and wrote Judge In Monaco, an indictment of Monaco's judicial corruption--
Miss Piggy oinks, "Moi?" Judge d'instruction Patricia Richet routinely yelled, "I know you will be found guilty!" at Ted--
As she tore up letters from his children--before beating fellow judge Hullin and putting him in the hospital for a week--
Per witnesses, names and numbers on file.
Monaco has an extorted false confession produced by three days of duress and maintained by three years of pressure.
Now would be a good time for a face-saving acquittal.
