President Bush: Please Bring Ted Maher Home From Banana-Republic Monaco!

American Green Beret veteran and accomplished neonatal nurse Ted Maher has now been held 537 days without trial in Monaco's prison on trumped-up and false charges -- charges of causing the deaths of billionaire banker Edmond Safra and Ted's fellow nurse, Vivian Torrente on December 3, 1999. In truth, Ted fought valiantly against two armed, masked intruders to defend Edmond and Vivian and save their lives. During the struggle, Ted suffered severe knife wounds that required one hundred staples to close.

Billionaire banker Edmond Safra was cooperating with the FBI, who was investigating the IMF/Russian loans. Needing a convenient scapegoat for the murder of Safra, Monaco police subjected Ted to three days of grueling torture designed to extort a false confession from him. (see description in "BASIC TIMELINE" in Thread 1 - http://206.112.97.70/forum/a3ad8b097272d.htm ).

Monaco continues to hold Ted incommunicado, preventing him from sending or receiving mail. In fact, they restrict his communication with his family to one telephone call a week. This call is only allowed to last a few minutes and is always monitored closely to prevent any discussion of the case. Ted is forced by his jailers to take a psychotropic medication and is regularly "interrogated" by the Monaco judge -- Patricia Richet. Reports have been received that Judge Richet is a violent person who has displayed unstable behavior in the past. She allegedly has a history of assaulting a fellow judge, putting him in the hospital for a week. She also tears up letters from Ted's children in front of Ted rather than let him read them.

Hundreds of family, friends, work associates, parents of patients, and Army veterans who served with Ted have vouched for him as being a loyal husband, loving father, and an exemplary professional of great skill and compassion. Ted has also been defended by then-chairman of the House International Relations Committee Ben Gilman and Ted's congresswoman Sue Kelly, who have written Prince Rainier III of Monaco on Ted's behalf. Monaco has no evidence of any crime by Ted; they have no witnesses and no credible case against him. Even worse, Monaco has planted false evidence and suppressed vast amounts of exculpatory evidence -- even passing a special Monaco law that enables them to hold Ted four years without trial.

The Geneva prosecutor has said that Safra was killed for his cooperation with the FBI regarding the laundering through Safra's Republic National Bank of $4.8 billion in IMF loans to Russia.

Regardless of the reason "why," it is obvious that Ted Maher is a scapegoat for a murder by others. We are working to obtain his release and to correct the grave injustice being done to an American Green beret veteran and medical professional.

Words have meanings: Today's lesson: "Extorted False Confession"

Jaybirds and jackasses bray that Ted himself says he "did it"--whatever "it" is in this murky business.

The first alarm went in at 4:54 a.m.--per the official Monaco fire report.

Was this to the police? No, the police would not respond.

The police have "lost" the tape of their emergency calls for just this one day: December 3, 1999.

Ask for the 2d, the 4th or any other--no problem, monsieur.

How was the fire alarm set off? Ted did it to get help against the two intruders.

Certainly the intruders had help getting in:

The burglar alarm was disconnected July 1, 1999, per the head of Monaco Securite in his official deposition--

It was not disconnected by Ted.

Edmond Safra's team of eleven Mossad-trained security agents was sent away to the palatial estate La Leopolda by Lily--not by Ted--

This we know because Israeli journalist Boaz Bismuth told Sara James on DatelineNBC "Who Killed the Billionaire?" November 21, 2000.

Ted was seriously cut by the knife attack of the two intruders--and to suppress this, the police destroyed his clothes.

Princess Grace Memorial gave Ted one hundred staples and numerous blood transfusions--yet the police produced uncut, unstained jogging clothes--

Is this some bad joke on the Shroud of Turin? Is this Monaco's obscene joke on a miraculous garment?

The Safra dress code did not allow such attire; Heidi bought Ted his required dress slacks and shirts--not this hoax garb.

While Ted was in surgery, a "sudden conflagration occurred at 6 a.m."--this is mentioned three times in the fire report--

Yet this is ONE HOUR after Ted was rushed to the hospital--

And Monaco's official fire report notes multiple sources of ignition--something Ted even when beaten and threatened for 72 hours straight never admitted to--

And he was beaten--the U.S. Consul Patricia L. Feitz noted bruising to his face--

Ted was held in four-point restraint--what do those words mean? That he was in a LazyBoy watching an NFL game eating popcorn?

Catheterized. A tube in the ureter to the bladder--a special deluxe treatment of the Monaco white-glove police.

Sleep-deprived--for 72 hours.

Threatened. With his wife's indefinite detention, strip-searching and torturing--

Are all U.S. citizens to Monaco kidnapped and their passports stolen, or just Heidi and her brother?

That's the question Michael Griffith and Mark Kurzmann are asking in a New York court where Lily has Stanley Cohen defending her--

The same Stanley Cohen who successfully defended Natasha Kagalovsky in the Bank of New York money-laundering case at the time Edmond Safra testified to our Congress.

Michael Maher and I each have a cite from that time stating the head prosecutor of Geneva said Safra was killed for cooperating with the FBI regarding the laundering of $4.8 billion in IMF loans to Russia through Republic.

And the Monaco police also displayed secretly-taken photos of the three Maher children in their rural New York state neighborhood, and played secretly-recorded tapes of their voices--

Now, why would they do that? What connection to Monaco would the FBI and the States have?

Chief inspector Olivier Jude who oversaw the interrogation completed the FBI National Academy March 1999.

When Ted met the U.S. Consul on December 8, 1999 he told her, "What I do I do for the safety of my family."

So for the jackasses who say Ted "admitted it", the obvious response, is that he admitted nothing.

He acts to protect his family from threatened harm.

Such is the way of police state Monaco.

Interrogation by magistrate without attorney present--illegal, but done to Ted.

Interception and confiscation of client-attorney correspondence--illegal, but done to Ted.

Kidnapping of a U.S. citizen and theft of a U.S. passport--illegal, but done to Ted's wife.

Ted was forced to falsely confess to save his family and is forced to adhere to the false confession for the same reason.

While Monaco is free to lie--Serdet smears Ted with drug use, despite Princess Grace Memorial's tox screen refuting the lie.

Monaco is also free to watch its tourist industry decline.

MONACO, BOTTOM LINE, DOES IT REALLY PAY TO BE A POLICE STATE?

Lies, damned lies, and Monaco's concocted cover-up.

To begin, Monaco prosecutor Daniel Serdet lied that Ted was on drugs.

Monaco's Princess Grace Memorial Hospital ran toxicology tests on Ted and produced results of negatif negatif negatif for drugs and alcohol.

Who are we to believe? The official slanderer or science? Gotta go with science.

Time.com's Thomas Sancton came up with three negative "witnesses" for his December 20, 1999 story--

1) an ex-wife declared unfit by the court and relieved of custody for her child for the type of drug use she projects on Ted;

2) an ex-neighbor known to police as a perennial nuisance;

3) a self-styled "landlord" who never rented to Ted--

Against which Heidi has 200 letters on file from family, friends, neighbors, fellow soldiers, medical colleagues, parents of patients, and clergy--

All attesting to Ted's good character, clean living, and no drug use--

Hmm, believe the journalist who wouldn't reply to my letters about his three highly suspicious sources. . ?

Or two hundred real people in good standing who actually knew Ted?

Have to go with real people.

Monaco beat Ted--our U.S. Consul in Marseilles noted the bruising to his face--to get him to sign their prepared false confession--

In French, which he does not read, write or speak--

Three straight days without sleep in four-point restraint, catheterized, while police threatened Ted's kidnapped wife with her U.S. Passport they stole--

And the secretly-taken photos of the couples' children, and the secretly-recorded voices of the children--

So to save his family, Ted signed the police lies--

And Ted was told by his pre-tend de-fender Monaco-paid Manasse (who serves at the pleasure of the Prince) to adhere to the lies--

Kept isolated for three years, without mail save the rare card, without calls save the one a week, Ted is gagged--

We have the false confession--which is nothing more than a false confession--

Beat me, threaten my family, make me confess that I sold the Moon's green cheese to the Subway Sandwich Shop chain--

Yet, I stipulate, the cheese is still there, or not, independent of my false confession--

Monaco has a moose-cheese confession from Ted--and they intend to use it to railroad him on a life sentence.

The gestapo tactics are crap, the false confession is crap, and the money-laundering police state is crap.

How retro to the Inquisition; how very Dreyfus.

And as Dunne says, the Prince, like Louis XIV, "just wants it to go away."
