USO Canteen Freeper Style
War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil. We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.
On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.
William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."
The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.
This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."
We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.
This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.
Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!
"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

That poem is beautiful and so reflective of this great bunch of freepers who hang out in the Canteen. Thanks, who, for posting it and all the other inspirational messages you share.

I pray before each post that it will be used in some way to inspire, console, cheer, brighten the day for someone. You are a treasure, who. What would the canteen do without you? Even though I don't always have the time to reply, I appreciate your posts, the humorous ones and the serious ones. Thank you for all you do. :-)

Hi FRiend, sorry you are having problems with your insurance companies and their 'administrivia' (as one of my former bosses used to call it).

Is that why my lab does that? She makes us crazy and doesn't get to come in until she has had a bath. She is now so trained that when she is allowed in, she heads straight for the bathtub and jumps in. She knows that is her ticket to being back in the house.
Sometimes we don't let her out without supervision, that way she won't try it.

{{{{HUGS}}}} for you my FRiend. I'm sorry to hear what's happening with your husband's job. Please rest in the knowledge that God will provide for you and your family. It may be in ways you never imagine, but He is faithful. I am praying for you. Thank you for sharing this; that's what FRiends are for.

If I knew what I know now before I joined up, I might have given it a pass!!
The United States of America has always dis-regarded the veterans that have served her and to this day it amazes me that there are always people who are willing to give of their lives to serve!!
Still and all, no matter how badly they treat me, I still know I served and that will have to be enough!!!

That's what the vet said. She has hunting in her blood and she can't help it. Today was an especially bad scenario!
I have her under lockdown in the garage and I'm going to walk her on a leash in a minute so she can go potty. I'm not taking any more chances tonight. I couldn't deal with it twice in one day.

Since the call would have been off subject, I did not call the talk shows but I did send Ray Appleton an e-mail and I will send one to Bill Manders later. If they would just mention us I would be pleased.

A few days ago, a Navy SH-60 Seahawk helicopter was lost off the coast of Greece Thanks for sharing this with us. I heard they were from Florida and I was wondering if they were from Jacksonville. God bless their families who are waiting for news. Please keep us updated if you hear any more.

JustAmy, I am so very honored to have met you on here. I have a lot of respect for you . Thank you for your dedication to supporting our troops and for all you do.You are doing a wonderful job.
To: Mr_Magoo
I hope you find another job soon. Take care of yourself and sleep late a couple of days. :) Best of luck to you.

..If they would just mention us I would be pleased. ..Great!! I think they probably will. Ray is pretty good about things like that. Especially when they support the military. He heads up those fly-ins and Jimmy Doolittle celebrations, etc.

The fourth-grade teacher had to leave the room for a few minutes. When she returned, she found the children in perfect order. Everybody was sitting absolutely quiet.
She was shocked and stunned and said, "I've never seen anything like it before. This is wonderful. But, please tell me, what came over all of you?
Why are you so well behaved and quiet?"
Finally, after much urging, little Sally spoke up and said, "Well, one time you said that if you ever came back and found us quiet, you would drop dead."
