C-SPAN needs to screen their callers a bit better.

On the contrary.

Ever since C-Spam instituted their 'Republican/Democrat/Independent' call-in lines, I have stopped watching. Before, at least one could get an unbiased view of audience reaction to ... whatever. Their change was probably due to too many politically incorrect and passionately conservative opinions coming through for comfort.

Now, all you get are Liberals lying about their affiliation to get access in on ALL the lines. Then they succeed in eating up the program and propagandizing the audience while cutting out most conservative opinions.

I won't start watching again until C-Spam changes their cozy, stupid little Help-The-Liberals-And-Pretend-We're-Being-Fair policy and open their lines up again first-come, first-serve!

Someone else suggested they just stop the call-in business. That would be fine with me. Of course, it really doesn't matter to me as I seldom ever watch. I just watched on Friday because Woodward and Balz were on and I wanted to hear THEM. Sitting through the call-in part reminded me of why I so seldom watch C-Span. I won't let it happen again.

Well, I used to watch it quite a bit. I seldom ever do now.

It's bad enough having to listen to idiotic Liberals some of the time, much less most of the time. It's just not worth it. I would rather sit on my front porch and watch the traffic.

...but when Byrd said that he's never made millions in business...

But whaddaya want to bet the old bastard's net worth is well into 7 figures from all those years of bestowing taxpayer-funded largess on friends and acquaintances?

The unforgettable quote from our democRAT Senator from the KKK..."I have seen many white niggers in my life too..."

Yeah, that quote disappeared almost immediately. Not that the networks had any bias in doing so :)

Anyway, ever listen to Ted Kennedy talk? Uhm..Ehh..Uhmm...mumble....Uhm... He's a Northern Hick A-hole! Really, I think it's a demoncrat disease, not a Southern one!

Here in Boston, readio talk show host Howie Carr does a "Wizard of Uh's" game for prizes. He plays seven seconds of Kennedy talking, and you have to call in and count the number of times the Senator says "Uh."

If you get the right number, you get a prize.

Fox tried again to use the CNN-Paula Zahn zipper ad to their advantage, but I think it backfired. They had a Paul Shankland (who does Rush's parodies) animation where a kid is watching CNN. We hear a zipper and the kid runs to Mom and Dad complaining. Dad asks if they saw the Paula Zahn commercial, and they respond that it was one for Lou Dobbs. Flash to TV screen and a fat leg with a black stocking and a high-heel shoe is shown. I found it definitely unfunny, and it may have gone over the head of the casual viewer. Likewise with Tony's comments at the end of the show regarding Greta's facelift. Tony said he was going to get one too that to emphasize his eyes and de-emphasize his jowls. Shows a picture of an alien-looking character. Also unfunny, IMO. He should stick to being host and asking questions, and quit the shtick.

Fox didn't do it; Fox reported that someone did it and it was Lou Dobbs in fishnet stockings.

Paul Shanklin did the parody; I have no idea who commissioned it.
(p.s. I spelled his name wrong in my original post)

Me too. Snicker, snicker. Perhaps he might have had an apoplectic snit fit right there in living color.

Loved the posts on this thread. That dottering old byrd and hollings should be put out to pasture. Such mean spiritedness from the Senate is outrageous. Rick Santorum was given a verbal tongue lashing when he first entered the Senate and spoke out against someone in a less than cordial tone. If I recall correctly it was byrd who lambasted him. IMHO Santorum was right.

What Paul O'Neill won't say about himself is that he spent decades working to change the management/employee relations in the companies he worked for. He helped institute policies that made the companies safer, gave employees an equal voice, etc. For all the pompous pandering from the left on Capitol Hill about evil CEOs and poor put upon employees, Paul O'Neill put his own Christian values to work and made a difference for thousands of employees and their families.

Chuck Colson and Jack Eckerd included this in a little book they wrote called "Why America Doesn't Work" about the loss of the American "work ethic"...both in management and labor. Paul O'Neill knows about the real world. Too many on Capitol Hill can not represent their constituents and have no business legislating...being both corrupted and out of touch after their years in DC.

It takes very little skill to spend other peoples' money. Especially when you're not accountable to anyone. Republicans can be grateful for the careful and almost singular press scrutiny...knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope (Romans 5-3,4). Look at the alternative on the other side of the aisle. Yikes.

Byrd is such a jerk. What a mean spirited man he is.

Byrd seems to think he is the reincarnated Cicero or Cato the Younger. Better remind him how they ended up!
