Sadly, 60+% of Americans are willing to trade liberty for security in the arms of big government

Point taken...still, the PATRIOT Act has always been labeled as a "Temporary Measure" so please let me suggest another scenario. Obviously, civil libertarians are justifiably concerned with the extent the Federales feel empowered to butt their noses into law-abiding American's private lives to get the bad guys who threaten our National Security. However, they began boiling this frog long before 9/11, and if We the Sheeple continue to agitate for a restoration of our Constitutional Rights, eventually we will need to declare "Victory" in the War on Terrorism and will have built the momentum for legislation that restores the disempowerment of the Federal Leviathan to levels far beyond what we had come to accept as of 9/10/01. BTW...I believe a similar strategy can be used to eliminate the federal Department of Education.

Well, over 50% of Americans don't even vote, so our duty is to get to a majority of the other 40+% and make them realize what they are giving up in the panic caused by 9/11.

My friend, Section 802 has no "sunset" provision as does the other sections which have a four year life and must be voted on again.

What really bothers me about this "war" is congress's refusal to officially declare war because they would have to specifically define all the enemies which must include the saudis according to the Prez's doctrine of any countries who aids, abets or harbours the terrorists are the enemy. The Constitution is being and has been circumvented by political "fiat" by the people who swore an oath to uphold it.

With all that's been going on relative to restrictive new laws in the name of security, do you really believe Americans will wake up before it's too late?

The traitors and their gang of thugs are still walking free when they should be in prison and except those of us who are passionate about that, the American people are not concerned. One of the reasons why is bush's statement early on was and I quote " let's move on".

Instead of going after these thugs, they prosecute people who are trying to protect their property. They use government resourcees to protect insects while farmer's crops are denied water and the people say nothing.

If ever incidents demanded National outrage it was Ruby Ridge and Waco and the people say nothing. When the fbi thugs were exonerated , the people said nothing.

When at Waco, the government was concerned about the black helmeted, black booted "heroes" of law enforcement rather than the 70+ people who were burned to death by the actions
of our "protectors". These same black helmeted, black booted "heroes" kidnapped Elian under the guise of law and the people said nothing.

Billions of our dollars are being spent and the people say nothing.
