Could be. I just thought it seemed further back then that. I thought that was a spectacular way to light the flame. You may be right about the location though, I don't recall for sure where it was.

We'll start a "Bash your OWN religion thread." Sounds like fun, but I think you'll have to change the name, 'cause the one that you propose will probably tip off the moderator ;)

I can't get over this...the moguls competition is going on NOW, and will last 4 hours, and all we get is a half-hour condensed version TONIGHT...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
To: Eowyn-of-Rohan
I read 40% of the prime time coverage will be taped, so as to have the best stuff shown in prime time. And so California's coverage will be delayed an extra 3 hours for the same reason.

I just sent off a quick e-mail to NBC -- BEGGING them to show MORE sports action, rather than a bunch of athlete sob-stories and "fluff" pieces about the Olympic village, I know it won't make a difference, but after last night's inane CHAT-FEST with Katie I had to do something ! GRRRR ! It's soooo hard to be a sports-lover and watch 5-minutes of sports followed by yet another endless hour of that type of crap

I know lets all email NBC with ideas for perky Katie to show the viewer how hard it is to ....... . We will have to come up with the most dangerous winter sport something that she could really do some damage on. Remember this is why NBC pays her the big bucks. Then when she takes herself out it will be a Katie free zone. I know I'm bad.

Well, I guess this will get me flamed, since I've seen absolutely no one here saying this, but -- within reason -- I like a lot of those athlete profiles. It does put a face on an otherwise anonymous athlete. IMHO. I also don't understand why everyone blames NBC for it. ABC is the one who perfected the technique years ago.
On a more convivial note, for those who talked about the Bush phone call, here's a brief blurb callisto posted: link to phone call article

I'm getting the whole thing - the entire competition complete on Canadian TV as it is happening. The American women are coming up soon in the finals. We're gonna get some medals -- just don't know the colors yet!

Whoa! The Canadian woman just threw down a MONSTER run on the moguls. Almost three seconds faster than anyone else today. She's going to be a tough mark to beat.

Oh, stop torturing me!! No-- don't stop!

I have my 97 year old grandmother for most of the day today. She is staying with my parents, but they had a wedding this morning. So I am watching her. I won't be around much of the weekend. Thanks so much for starting this thread...
For the womens mogels..the top women have not skied yet..coming up shortly...: )) This includes the 3 American women.

Me, Utah Girl? I am a Mormon, too much ethnic food, and too late of a night for me last night. We had orange juice spiked with Sprite. That's what we do to celebrate. (smile)
To: Eowyn-of-Rohan
Jennifer Hiel (Canadian) took the lead. But right after her a Japanese woman beat her in style points by one-one hundredth to take it from her. As the stronger women come up it appears that all of them are cutting about three seconds off their first runs. Gonna be a wild finish.

I hope Katie Colic and Bob Costas read the cricism of their coverage last night. It was really pathetic.
