Yawn. As much fun as it is watching anti-American jerks prance around on TV I think I'll pass.

I enjoyed last night most as it was a Clinton-free zone. I pray that will be the case throughout. If we can accomplish that, I just might believe that we are free of him, once and for all.

I'm going to wait until they implement the Ancient Greek Olympic dress code for all events. Then I will watch the women's figure skating with a renewed interest.

Until then I have some flowers on the wall that need counting.

TV schedule subject to change

3 - 3:45 PM ET / 12 - 12:45 PM PT

Cross-Country Skiing: Men’s 30 kilometers
Today’s 30-kilometer cross-country event will be raced in the freestyle technique, a change from the 30km classical competition in Nagano. The first men’s gold medal of the Games will go to the winner of this event. Expect Norway’s Thomas Alsgaard, Spain’s Johann Muehlegg and Sweden’s Per Elofsson to battle it out for the gold medal.

3:45 - 6 PM ET / 12:45 - 3 PM PT

Speed Skating: Men’s 5000 meters
Speed skating debuts at the Utah Olympic Oval today with the men’s 5000 meters, and there could be a familiar anthem played on the medal stand. The Netherlands’ Gianni Romme won gold in Nagano, but did not make a deep Dutch squad for Salt Lake. Teammates Carl Verheijen, Bob de Jong upstart Jochem Uytdehaage will pick up where Romme left off. KC Boutiette of Tacoma, Washington, makes his third Olympic appearance today. At the 1998 Nagano Games, he had three top-10 finishes.

Cross-Country Skiing: Women’s 15 kilometers
Today’s 15-kilometer cross-country event will be raced in the freestyle technique, a change from the 15km classical competition in Nagano. Russian Yulia Tchepalova won the 30km freestyle at the 1998 Games and was the top freestyler on the World Cup circuit in 2000-2001. Look for Italian Stefania Belmondo to challenge as well.

8 - 8:30 PM ET / 7:30 - 8 PM PT

Freestyle Skiing: Women’s moguls competition
Deer Valley gets its first look at Olympic freestyle skiing with the women’s moguls. Featured in this segment will be American Hannah Hardaway. The New Hampshire native can win for the second time at Deer Valley. She took home the gold at the World Cup Olympic test event on this course in January 2001.

8:30 - 9:15 PM ET / 8 - 8:45 PM PT

Figure Skating: Pairs short program
Pairs from the former Soviet Union and Unified Team or Russia have won the last 10 Olympic gold medals. Tonight’s short program will feature 2001 world champions David Pelletier and Jamie Sale of Canada as they set off to break this streak. The short program counts for one-third of a pair’s score and sets up the drama for Monday’s free skate, which counts for the other two-thirds.

9:15 - 9:45 PM ET / 8:45 - 9:15 PM PT

Freestyle Skiing: Women’s moguls final
Freestyle skiing awards its first medal tonight in women’s moguls. Norway’s Kari Traa is the defending world champion and World Cup series champ and is looking for her first gold medal. Hot on her heels will be Americans Hannah Hardaway and Shannon Bahrke.

9:45 - 10 PM ET / 9:15 - 9:30 PM PT

Figure Skating: Pairs short program

10 - 11 PM ET / 9:30 - 10:30 PM PT

Nordic Combined: Individual, K90 competition
The individual competition is divided into two events: ski jumping from the K90 hill and a 15-kilometer freestyle cross-country race. Each athlete takes two jumps and the scores are combined for an opening-day total. American Todd Lodwick will be featured in this segment. Competing in his third Olympic Winter Games, Lodwick has a chance to record America’s best-ever result in nordic combined. Its best finish in an individual event was ninth place at the 1932 Lake Placid Games.

6 - 8:45 PM ET / 3 - 5:45 PM PT

Ice Hockey: Men’s game, Slovakia vs. Germany
Slovakia takes on Germany in preliminary-round action today at the E Center. Slovakia was a favorite in Nagano to advance to the final round, but struggled without NHL stars such as Peter Bondra of the Washington Capitals and Ziggy Palffy of the Los Angeles Kings for the entire Olympic tournament. The Germans finished in second place in preliminary-round pool play in Nagano, just missing the final round.

8:45 - 11:25 PM ET / 5:45 - 8:25 PM PT

Ice Hockey: Men’s game, Austria vs. Latvia
The preliminary round of the men’s hockey tournament starts today and is comprised of eight teams seeded in two groups. The winner of each preliminary round will progress into the final round of the Olympic tournament. The Austrians, who struggled in Nagano, going 0-1-2 in preliminary play, take on Latvia at the Peaks Ice Arena in Provo. Latvia, which last competed in Olympic hockey in 1936 at the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Games, will be bolstered by some of the loudest fans in international hockey.

11:25 PM - 12 AM ET / 8:25 - 9 PM PT

If I was to be in the Olympics, that is what I would want to do. Although I suspect that I would cause a glacial meltdown applying the brakes with my weight.
