America Disenfranchised: Non-citizens Vote
Dave Eberhart, NewsMax.comWith a bill outlining changes in federal election law proposed by Sen. Christopher Bond, R-Mo., wending its way through Congress and the 2002 elections looming, a race is on to close loopholes in The National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (the Motor-Voter law) that critics say have made it easy for non-citizens to vote.
Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002
The Motor-Voter law requires that states permit anyone who gets a drivers license to register to vote at the same time. Usually, applicants who register to vote are asked to affirm, without documentation, that they are citizens.
Forty-seven states do not require any proof of U.S. residence for enrollment. Motor-Voter has added and continues to add millions of people to the voting rolls.
Critics of Motor-Voter, such as the watchdog organization The United States Border Patrol, point out that when the Sept. 11 hijackers bought their one-way tickets to California, they identified themselves with driver's licenses from New Jersey, Michigan, Virginia and Florida documents that could have gotten them voting privileges in the very nation they sought to destroy.
Among other things, under the Bond bill there would be:
During the 106th Congress, Rep. Bob Stump, R-Ariz., introduced legislation to repeal the Motor-Voter law outright as the best way to discourage the registration and subsequent voting of non-citizens.
In 1996 Congress enacted the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act, making voting by non-citizens an offense punishable by deportation. However, Congress failed to provide a mechanism by which state and local election officials could check on citizenship, ensuring enforcement.
Subsequently, Rep. Steve Horn, R-Calif., pushed the Voter Eligibility Verification Act, which would have given voter registrars the ability to eliminate non-citizen voting. Under parliamentary rules, however, the bill was bought to the floor under circumstances requiring a two-thirds majority to pass. It failed.

The issue of Motor-Voter facilitating non-citizen voting came to a head in the historic and highly contested Election 2000.
"Did non-citizens, voting last November, influence the outcome of [Election 2000]? asked Edward Nelson of United States Border Control. "With hundreds of thousands of non-citizens, including illegal aliens, voting throughout the country, there is no question about it.
"The election or defeat of candidates for Congress, the U.S. Senate, governors, mayors, city councilmen, and, yes, even the president of the United States was influenced dramatically by non-citizens voting illegally in U.S. elections!
According to Nelson, Motor-Voter forced states with previously strict voter-eligibility requirements, such as Florida and Missouri, to accept anyones word that he was eligible to vote.
The idea that anyone who can drive a car ought to be voting is too silly to treat as a serious proposal. It appeals to those who believe that virtue is determined by counting noses--whether infected, clean or dry, and regardless of what sort of brain is behind them--but it should not appeal to any serious student of the Twentieth Century.

Do you honestly think that George Bush would prosecute Clinton for treason if the American People Demanded it? No he wouldn't. Will our government lower our taxes if we demand it, or vote for it? No. Will your local governments lower your taxes if you vote for it? No, because they will demand referendum after referendum and eventually get what they want. This isn't about who is voting, this is about making sure that the average American Citizen has the illusion that something is being done. The American Government the way it is, with who is in it, is a fraudulent scam to redistribute wealth to the pockets of Big Business, Government officials, and foreign nations. This isn't about making the lives of American Citizens better, it's about making money.
If you want better government, you're going ot have to start over. You're going to have to close the borders, kick out the illegals, and stop the money train to foreign countries. It's going to take our people demanding that our money does not go to other countries for aid. It's going to take our people demanding that our sovereignty not be sold out from under us, and it's going to take the quick and speedy removal of the United Nations from our soil in order to make sure America gets it's own problems fixed.
You know why we have had an attack on America? Because our government was too busy handing out money to other countries and bickering among it's political groups to pay attention to what was about to happen. It's about defending our nation, and keeping it sovereign that keeps a nation free, and free from attacks. Not this nonsense of helping Somalia, or some crappy third world country who can't get it's own people to evolve. Why does our government ship money overseas to little countries who then attack us? That's a question that our leaders never seem to answer.
If you want to live in America, the America that was always the best place to live, and the best country in the world, you have to stop destroying what made America what it was. You can't have foreign countries dictating what we do, or how much to write the checks for. Our government needs to get out of the loan business and get back to the defense of our country. Our Leaders need to take a hint from September 11th. They need to quit giving our money away. They need to quit getting involved in other countries' business. Our government needs to focus on our own people, and the overtaxation of it's citizens, and dismantle the money machine that lines the pockets of third world governments, politicians, and big business.
That's what will fix America, not being tolerant of the things that were once considered evil. A lack of tolerance will correct a lot of things in this country, and pursuing those who are in our country illegally with extreme predjudice.
Why not? They have cameras filming citizens on street corners, major highways, intersections, train crossings - and at the Olympics and at the Superbowl!
I think Americans ought to be able to SEE what goes on at certain precincts at EVERY election!
They wouldn't believe it!
Good idea, but we have to start to prosecute and punish vote fraud to put a stop to it.
The whining socialist/communists will try to portray same as racist and anti-immigrant. To control this red herring arguement, vote fraud will have to be equated with treason (which it is), very hard to do.
How about only veterans allowed to vote?Maybe an IQ test required?
Stop motor voter and prove citizenship.Require ID at voting precincts. Why is it wrong or intimidating to require ID to vote? You have to present ID to cash a check.
I agree with that. Let the election observers run their own cameras in every polling station in the country. If there is anything amiss going on, it would be caught on camera and could be used as evidence if any fraud or other questionable practices are going on in that polling station.
Even handheld camcorders would do.
I do agree that HR 189 would be much more effective in combating non-citizen voter fraud and other voter fraud made easy by Motor Voter.
This may be a step in the right direction where eventually HR 189 or a similar future resolution could become reality.
===============
In 1996, just before the election, the papers printed a story here in L.A. 16,000 fraudulent voter registration forms had been "discovered", which were 40% of all the forms collected by "three groups associated with the Democratic Party." The groups were not named. The articles also stated that "other counties reported similar findings."
The story began and ended there. I wrote the papers several times over the years, reminding them of this story and wondering why I had not seen follow-up articles on indictments, convictions, that sort of thing. I also recalled that newspapers used to do a thing called "investigative journalism", which is where reporters go and find out things that the bosses might not want found out, and then tell people about those things.
Neither local paper responded in any way, and needless to say they did not print my letters on this subject...

Though this article is good, this issue does not have that much visibility. Too bad at least the "Conservative" Media (talks shows, columnisists, maybe even Fox News)couldn't give this issue more visibility.
Too bad also that the Republican Party does not do more to bring some significant visibility to this ongoing voter fraud made easy by the Motor Voter Law. Letting people know that non-citizens should not be voting and trying to get people riled up enough by it that they will demand either significant amendments to the Motor Voter Law mandating safeguards to protect the votes of citizens from being diluted or nullified by those of non-citizens/others ineligible to vote or throw out Motor Voter entirely.
The Republicans do have an extensive party apparatus along with a significant grass-roots orgination that can get people informed about this and what can be done to stop it, but for whatever reason are not doing it.
Other than a column by David Limbaugh last summer supporting House Resolution 189, "Repeal of the Motor Voter Act", and some other articles by WorldNetDaily, Newsmax and other Conservative internet news sites during the Florida standoff in 2000, hardly anything has come out on this from even the Conservative Media.
Though the American's For H.R. 189 sure tried to get the "Conservative Media" and the Republican Party to get the word out about non-citizen voter fraud and Motor Voter/H.R. 189, hardly anybody other than David Limbaugh would even respond or comment on it.
You could also try calling in/emailing/writing your favorite local and/or national conservative talk show host and ask them that they talk about this issue more themselves and let their listeners know that their is legislation pending to stop or at least seriously curtail voter fraud by non-citizens.
Lastly, you could contact the Republicans themselves and ask why they will not support this issue more aggressively. They could get the word out about what is going on to a good number of people thru their grass-roots networks.
This bill would accomplish nothing, it is just more feel good
nonsence. They now will have a box to check if they are a
Citizen......So What?
Not long ago, there was a movement in California to make it
legal for non-citizens to vote. Besides you can register in
front of most large stores and shopping malls around election
time, and no one will ask if you are a citizen, nor will they ask
for identification.
You mean like, when the president of Mexico came here and demanded
that we legalize all the illegals, we should have....
