Nah, I didn't have to take the class. I was planning to minor in Judaic studies, and it was an elective (which was cross listed with women's studies). Easy A. We read a few books about the role of women in Jewish history, etc.

"American Airlines Center has more toilets per capita than any other sports and entertainment venue in the country. With more than a 3:1 ratio of women's vs. men's toilets, it exceeds the requirements of the Texas "Potty Parity" law."

The Feminist Version of Equality In Law: a 3:1 ratio in their favor.

Christina Hoff Sommers - A woman with class who is willing to stand up and reject the ideals of a few PC militants...I hope they let her live a while before she disappears...Who knows maybe other people will see her logic and spread the news and then the militans can't stop them all.

I have an engineering degree myself. I really wondered about some of the people that I saw in my general ed classes (I'm still not happy about being forced to take some of those classes, but that's for another discussion). What are the philosophy and music majors going to do after graduation?

The "Yale Union" is NOT a newspaper, I gathered, but a speakers bureau type of organization......she, Ms. Sommers, will be speaking there, and the fireworks will likely fly - we'll see what burns!!!!

How, in your esteemed opinion, can we help this brave woman?

Show up at the lecture?

I actually know a lipstick lesbian couple here in Nashville quite well. They are both gorgeous and actually like men to a degree...they just like womyn a whole lot more. I've known one of them (she's 34 now) since she was in grade school.

They do have some serious catfights though...usually over jealousy or hints of infidelity. They like me more than my wife oddly. I think Sapphos find beautiful hetero gals that are also mommies threatening in a way. The reverse is true with homo-guys.....they absolutely love the company of beautiful gals. Dykey Lesbos on the other hand don't care for us third leggers at all...in my experience.

Needless to say I don't discuss politics with any of them. I was banned from an artsy fartsy Christmas party here in Nashville which usually has a fair number of gays in attendance because I'm viewed as a right wing gun freak.

Oh well. Gays are a weird study you know....I even know a few...one does my wife's "highlights" for her hair...and he's a staunch Pubbie.

I agree with you that the story isn't told fully. My guess is that Dr. Sommers has been invited to speak on this subject as the keynote at a monthly meeting of the Yale Political Union.

These are Oxford-style debates. First, the proposition is put to the four parties (Party of the Right, Tories, Party of the Left, and Socialists). Each party takes its position in caucus and appoints its two debaters. Usually the parties split two and two. (Only when Wiliam F. Buckley was invited on the subject of defending Quemoy and Matsy, did the parties split 1-3, to my knowledge.)

To conduct the debate, the proposition is put to the Union, the keynote speach is given. Then the debaters present and rebut. Then the Union votes on the proposition. (I had the honor on a few occasiions of being the rebuttal debater for the Tories, then known as the Conservatives.)

Anyway, this is my educated guess of the context of this speech which the post does not state.

Do you dare suggest that men and women should have sex?

How very non-feminist of you.

When a man has sex with a woman, IT'S ALWAYS RAPE!!!

Yeah, right. Real women like sex.

I went back and read the fine print on the post. This article comes from the website of the "Yale Political Union."

Therefore, the discussion above is on point. This is for an Oxford-style debate before the Union on Monday night, These may be open to the press (who are seldom interested in such matters), but are not open to the public.

Isn't right-wing lesbian a contradiction in terms? There are a fair number of right-wing gay guys, especially among libertarians.

Well, at UNC it was called Omega Psi Phi.
What is the reticence, particularly on Free Republic, of stating the truth?

My daughter is not allowed to wear T-Shirts that insult men or make derogatory comments about the male sex. I do not want my daughter to get the idea that she can have power because of what is between her legs or what is on her chest. I want my daughter to have power over herself (with the Lord’s help of course). If my daughter should ever obtain a position of power in life, I want it to be because she is honest, intelligent, passionate AND compassionate, and brave enough to fight for what she believes in. I want her to understand that she will never obtain power or self confidence by overtly insulting her Daddy or little brother’s reproductive parts.

My daughter is a loving, smart cookie. She will achieve her goals in life because she loves and respects herself. She is learning to love men from an example set by her female role models in her family and church. I don’t want her to get anything in life, because she kicked a man in the nuts physically or verbally.

Sorry if I’m being vulgar, but this is something I feel very strongly about. I want my children to respect HUMAN BEINGS because they ARE humans. Not respect or disrespect someone because of their skin color, sex, religion, etc. I want her to have an appropriate pride in being female and the gifts that come from being feminine. That pride will not come from degrading men.

Well said.

I don't know any right wing gays.....I do know a homosexual "couple' in which both of the men are Republican but more about fiscal issues than social.

Most rainbow decaled lesbos I've seen are serious lefties.

In truth ..other than here on FR I rarely come in contact with anyone as right wing as myself...and I know plenty of Republican voters. The culture war issues are what really defines most folks and myself. I'm paleo on culture issues.
