Several people have asked where they can get webspace for hosting images for free.
The source link WorldPhotos is one (click on "Submit Photos" or go there by clicking the source above)
Another is VillagePhotos
And one more is PhotoIsland

Bookmarks are back but the link for creating one has moved. Look under the posted article. The new link is right after the article and before the first post.
Well so it is - many thanks, FRiend! Bookmarked now.

Left hand column. Click on "New Album." When the page loads you should get a new list in the left hand column in which "upload images" is a selection. Then just follow the instructions.

"Got a ping list of people who would use this?" I would like to be kept up to date on future posts regarding this issue. It's been a real pain moving from server to server.

FYI, picturestage doesn't work either. when you refresh, the pics become the dreaded red x.
villagephotos seems to work, but you get their logo printed on the bottom of the photo. i don't like that.

I don't know that there is a ping list for this; you might bookmark it or index it for reference later.

Here is a free webhosting site (I just found) where you can upload photos and webpages via FTP or use their on-site uploading tools.
I just stuck a few images on there to see if it works.

Try changing the image file to a .txt file and linking it. I hear that works for geocities and tripod

...i keep getting error messages when trying to login on worldphotos.com. i'm not having good luck today. :( I can't even register. It said the username 3J9x2j6zFcl3uh9k was already taken! And EVERY other username I tried. And I tried a bunch of them, every bit as random that one. I can take a hint. Hmmmph!

Is there any reason not to load the images up to Freerepublic instead of using these external sites?

Well, I think some are okay, but from what I understand, is a heavy load of personal pics might wear out the welcome, so to speak. I am trying to limit using it as well. I am not aware of any restrictions. You might ask John Rob about it. Let us know his reply if you do.

I am having some trouble that maybe one of the other frequent picture posters can help me with.... Webshots deleted two of my
Lord of the Rings Albums earlier today. I assume because of copyright issues.
I have omitted all the photos that expressly SAY copyright on them and put the albums back up... (There should be six LOTR Albums, past my personal albums....)
My question is this... the photos that simply have a website address on them, ie: www.lordoftherings.net or imaldris.com, are those to be considered copyrighted, or are they assuming the photos will be copied and they are advertising... I have always assumed the latter, and that those photos are OK to copy and post. What is the truth, anyone know?
