Breaking news out of Goodlettsville: investigators are on the scene at the Iowa Beef Processing plant, after an apparent shooting there Monday morning.
SWAT team members and negotiators have been called in.
Employees arriving at work at the plant on South Cartwright Street were not allowed inside. At 6:15 Monday morning, the Goodlettsville Fire Department called Metro and asked for assistance.
Emergency crews reported that one person had been shot five times, and another victim was possibly still inside the plant. After speaking with Goodlettsville police, we now believe there was only one victim involved.
Employees were evacuated from the building and herded outside into a parking lot, but they were not allowed to leave in their cars.
One victim was transported by ambulance to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Goodlettsville police set up a road block at the plant gate, allowing no one in or out of the parking lot.
While police are not talking, News 2 has spoke with an employee from the plant who says a man was shot in a locker room inside the plant during shift change, and the gunman was still on the loose on plant property.

When they find the gunman, I hope they throw him in the Meat Grinder! Then sell him as an all beef Hoffa Hot Dog!
Of all the stupid things you have said here, that is about the most stupid. You better stay in your basement all day Mom. There are 1 million testosterone-crazed "NRA types" running through the PA woods right now with high-powered rifles. You never know what those right-wingers might do. It's not safe anywhere. Think of all that lead flying around. And just think of this Mom --- In the entire country, you libs can't even get 1 million hysterical leftists females to actually go to one of those Million Mom Marches on a warm sunny summer day, and the NRA types can get 1 million in Pennsylvania alone to go into the woods at the end of November every year.
At least the processors kill them humanly and quickly, but PETA tourtures them with multiple wounds before they get there. Nice people aren't they? Someone should keep PETA away from animals.Hello...? Where does it say that this is anything more than pure conjecture?
It's a pity isn't it.I bet thousands of your brothers and sisters are slaughtered every year in those awful beef plants.
I don't know what part of PA you live in, but out here in the outback of PA, we all quickly jump the SH*T of idiots who do things like that. A human being killed would be excused by "NRA types" as "merely celebrating the opening day of deer season"? That is an insult not only to Pennsylvanians, but to the entire human race as well.
At least she's consistant!
And gotta give her credit for hanging in here, year after year, as many times as she's been slapped around here.
LOL...that's true. In this part of PA, the first day of buck and doe are paid holidays. The kids don't even have school. I really hope hubby gets one today. I can already taste the tenderloin...
ALF= Animal Liberation Front.
ELF= Earth Liberation Front.
ELF is an offshoot of ALF. Both groups indulge themselves with ecoterrorism.
