Breaking news out of Goodlettsville: investigators are on the scene at the Iowa Beef Processing plant, after an apparent shooting there Monday morning.
SWAT team members and negotiators have been called in.
Employees arriving at work at the plant on South Cartwright Street were not allowed inside. At 6:15 Monday morning, the Goodlettsville Fire Department called Metro and asked for assistance.
Emergency crews reported that one person had been shot five times, and another victim was possibly still inside the plant. After speaking with Goodlettsville police, we now believe there was only one victim involved.
Employees were evacuated from the building and herded outside into a parking lot, but they were not allowed to leave in their cars.
One victim was transported by ambulance to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Goodlettsville police set up a road block at the plant gate, allowing no one in or out of the parking lot.
While police are not talking, News 2 has spoke with an employee from the plant who says a man was shot in a locker room inside the plant during shift change, and the gunman was still on the loose on plant property.
Stay tuned to News 2 and WKRN.com for the latest information.

Actually, that is a real problem. An awful lot of cattle arrive at meat processors with shot in the flesh. I'm not sure if PETA idiots are doing it, or it is just drunk pheasant hunters. The bird shot penetrates the hide, burries into the flesh, then the hide heals over. When meat companies produce end products, they have metal detectors to pick up any bits of ferrous metals. The problem is, they do not set off when lead goes through. The sausage company near me is spending a fortune to tackle the problem. They are talking about high-speed X-Ray machines. I liken the problem to "spiking trees" to damage the timber industry.

IBP is the Tyson acquisition fiasco. Tyson offered a ton of money for the company, only to renig on the offer. Then IBP stockholders took Tyson to court over the mess, and the judge ordered Tyson to honor it's bid. The big guy at Tyson just resigned over it. (I think it was Don Tyson, HRC's cattle future buddy) Funny what happens to all the FOB/H isn't it?

You mean Rosie carries a gun?Be careful what you say, Buddy! Some of my best friends are law abiding cows and I'm highly insulted that you would lump them in with the likes of Rosie O. What are you trying to do, cause a stampede? Remember, all our cows are belong to us.

Sounds like a crime of passion to me. Carrying a wheel gun with the hammer down on an empty (or an SP-101), and emptied the wheel at close range. Or was it 5 for you, one for me? Live at 5, tape at ten, if it bleeds, it leads. But this doesn't sound like an all-out rampage to me.
I know the anti-gunners are looking for a new poster child, but I don't think this is it.

Somehow I highly doubt it. NRA Life member for 18 years and haven't ever excused any murderer type. Maybe he had a mom like you.
