What has happened to Free Republic

Has anyone noticed that the Liberal influence has spread here into Free Republic. I notice that less and less Conservatives seem to post here, and more and more Libertarians seem to be.
I get a letter from someone named NYpeanut who is mad because I posted a discussion based on the Gender Gap in voting.
I didn't make it up, there is really a huge Gender gap with Female Voters tending toward the more liberal candidate. The discussion went well without name calling, but this person seems to have taken issue to the fact that I pointed out women seem to vote more liberally than men.
All those who are newbies here are considered disruptors, and those who hold a more right-winged view than the average libertarian seem to be kicked out.
Why is this? Is this a Libertarian site now?
I have noticed more and more posters standing up for Abortion, Homosexuality, the Porn Industry and Drugs since I first came to this site back before the 2000 Election.
Are Christian Conservatives(Who make up a large part of the Republican core vote) not allowed here anymore?
Just because one holds to a higher power, and wishes to shape society in accordance with the laws of Almighty God, does not make one a Taliban Milita member.

Whoops, no, it was meant for FF78. Who's the half-wit now?

So if I say I think Harry Potter is too extreme for seven-year-olds, I am equal to blood-thirsty, murdering, savage terrorists.
One guy said that he told his adult kids that if they bought a Harry Potter book for his grandkids that he would grab those books and burn them. Yeah, I would say that's Talibanish. I don't like book burners, they are the murderers of ideas.
If you don't like the books, you are free not to read them. You are also free to complain about them. Your opinion however is not binding. As long as you've got that straight, and many on the Potter threads don't, then we are okay.

Smoking pot is illegal so at best you are a law breaker. But what is worse is the fact that you SUPPORT drug dealers who I am certain DONT VOTE REPUBLICAN primarily, whatever that means, and are probably selling other narcotics or at least engaged in criminal activity that is much more destructive to society. Now, aren't you proud?

"This just in: Someone has complained at Free Republic.
Further details: felt treated disrespectfully.
In other news Mohammed Atif is still seriously dead."

****You whiners make me sick.****
I couldn't make it to the end of the thread. YOU are the problem on FR. Name calling is always an immature and pointless response ... no matter what the subject. All you had to do was say, "I think your complaints are baseless and without merit", and many would have listened and perhaps agreed with you. But instead you stoop to slander and make the original poster's point.

Either you've been visiting another FR that I don't know about or you've been huffing glue. FR has become a Bush worshipping, liberal republican amen corner. Anyone who can't see that is being very selective in what they choose to read here.

Just the same crowd with a lot of time on their hands as usual. I have noticed though that they have been able to figure out how to send mail to my freep mail with their usual expletives and nothing more.

It's still an attack. But I guess YOUR attacks are OK... Try to find a Khepera post that is not a bump or an attack on someone.

Drug Use, Pornography and Homosexuality destroy society. No one has the right to destroy the moral fabric of society, and that is what those things do. Since when did this turn into a "church/moral/judgmental site?
Preach in your church. This is a POLITICAL forum. None of the above "destroy" society. I have more of a personal problem with people such as you who tend to be JUDGMENTAL. Again, Take your message to the churches

I've been posting since Nov 11, '00, so we've been on board right about the same amount of time. I do not notice what you do, and that includes lurking since the Republican convention.

There are still some of us who want to take things back the way they should be. The Taliban also advocate living as though it was the 1600's too.

How do you know that this person is not growing their own?
In that case, they would not need a drug dealer at all.

To protect our freedoms, we are better off with a much weaker "power" that does the shifting.
Thats the key. If I had to sum up my philosophy in a few words I would say that:
The parts of the Constitution dealing with the powers of government should be interpreted more narrowly, while those parts of the Consitution dealing with individual rights should be interpreted more broadly.
Part of the problem, for instance, is that leftists desire to interpret the 2nd Amendment narrowly and the 1st Amendment broadly while some social conservatives desire to interpret the 1st Amendment narrowly and the 2nd Amendment broadly. They attempt to use the Constitution to promote the freedoms dear to their own philosophy and give short shrift to those freedoms that do not apply to their own lifestyle. This is the reason for much of the schizophrenic behavior of the ACLU for example.
