(Vanity) "LET'S ROLL" -- Who Else Cried?
onyx | 11-08-01 | onyx

When President Bush ended his magnificent speech with Todd Beamer's words "LET'S ROLL" I burst into tears much to the shock of our triplet girls, age 2, on the nineteenth of this month. They're fine now, in fact, they're running around shouting "Let's roll." My question, did anyone else cry? Did President Bush's speech move you to tears too?

"The reason he is much loved is exactly because he is genuine."

You are so, right!

We are Americans. This is our country. He who would take it from us, by force or by stealth, is our enemy. And it is our purpose -- nay, it is our duty to our children and to their children and to our yet unborn posterity -- it is our duty to use all feasible means to destroy him.
LETS ROLL

Me too, me too. It's a little startling to walk into my dark office in the middle of the night and see those eyes staring at you. Always alert. Wonderful picture.

Agree. The speech he delivered to the joint session of congress and tonight's speech were both A+++ efforts. The other side must be drinking their bath water about now.

What recently brought tears in my eyes was this:
on the radio, the director of the blood center in New Orleans was talking about how they had gathered all their blood supply during the day of 9-11 to ship to New York and how they got a call in the evening telling them not to bother, that blood would not be needed because people were not injured but dead.

Definitely! Mr. Inspectorette and I grabbed for each other's hand, and held tight = tears flowed.

Just spoke to Inspectorette Jr. (she just doesn't know it yet) - she and her Marine hubby are going to the Marine Corps Ball in DC Saturday. She said that last year SecDef was the featured speaker (barf - Cohen). I told her that we're praying, out here on the Left Coast, that SecDef Rumsfeld will be there to inspire them (not that they're not already inspired and motivated.

ABSOLUTELY! Couldn't have said it better myself.

Did President Bush's speech move you to tears too?

At least once almost every day I'll break into tears over something or other though I don't want to come off as a goofy sob sister. Just three, maybe four minutes of tears then I'm over it. Could be the sight of the flag at hanging on a bridge overpass, a patriotic song, sometimes just pics or video of ground zero breaking my heart. Those words - "LET'S ROLL" do it to me every time. What incredible heroes those guys were, more heroic than most anyone walking today.

I'm so glad that Bush, his PR team, whoever....uses this phrase often. There are no better two words in the English language describing what we have to do.

LET'S ROLL!

I certainly voted for him and I was elated when he won- both during the early morning hours of Nov. 8 when he was declared the winner and when he defeated Al Gore's lawyers some weeks later. But never in my wildest dreams did I believe he would develop into the leader of incredible stature he has become. I have never respected an American President in my lifetime (age 45) to this extent, and yes, that includes our beloved RR. What a great, touching, dramatic and wonderful ending---LET'S ROLL!!!!

Let's Roll was a perfect ending to a totally emotional speech...It comes from his heart and that's why it touches our hearts so deeply. Cry at 'em all and so proud of our President...Now, Let's Roll!
