Just reported on the 10 PM WBZ radio news broadcast:
FBI is seeking a rental type Ryder Van that was stopped trying to enter the parking garage at the Cambridge Mass Galleria mall at about 7 PM. When the back doors of the van were opened by security personnel, there were 6, 55 gallon drums duct taped to the vans walls along with gas type cans also taped to the walls.
The van then sped off. The FBI is asking for anyone seeing the van with possible license plate of 4789H7 to contact Police or the FBI.

Anything going on? Don't tell me they let it get away! I think I read where the news just kinda stopped about it. Anyone know?
I don't get cable. Country life, you understand.
I count on these folks for breaking news.
Good website, aye?

Just a small confiming point: 1000 lbs. of fertilizer at 4 lbs./gal.=200 gallons=five 55gal. drums. Werern't six seen in the van? Pretty close! Oh oh...

Whitman, Mass

The Squalus sunk in 1939 before the US got into the war. His sub that he later died on went down I think in 43. I think people were less likely back then to get out of going to the next duty unless they were really messed up. Even the guys who freaked out on the battlefront got treated up close to lines and sent back, that was the practice then. Not much coddling I think. But a refusal to go to the next sub under orders and during a time we were not at war, I don't know. I just know he wanted to go back. I guess he loved it.

What's an A-10?

Beautiful picture! I delivered bombs to A-10's (1990-93). I always thought they were amazing aircraft, and quiet too! I never understood why the Air Force shunned them, I'm sure the Marines would have taken over the operational commitment if they had the chance! (the Maarines do have other land based planes, don't they?)

What's the deal...I thought that the men in blue were in hot pursuit of the van and were so close that they could see the license plate flapping up and down?!? Time for our Pols. to sprout some balls and deport all who are here on visas from suspect countries!

Seems something of a letdown after the last weeks of "suitcase nukes", "dirty bombs" and lately, "taking out bridges".

You know what I'd like to see? (I've had a couple of beers, so I can say what I want!)
If these guys with the Ryder truck are carrying some sort of bomb device, I'd like to see them ripping along some country backroad at about 100 mph. I'd like to see them hit a bump. I'd really like to see their explosives "blow them up real good" - well away from everyone else, and in a situation that guarantees that there'll be no virgins for them!
Nasty thoughts, huh? ;o)

Thanks - I get the picture now - I'm new at this - just takes me a little time!
Haven't heard anything on the scanner lately - wonder what is going on?

Where was that incident. I remember hearing about a case last week, but don't remember where it was.
I think it was in Whitman, Mass, south of Boston.
I also think they said that they (the Police) determined it was not a good fertilizer for bomb construction....not like the type used in OK city.

their real agenda is economic war on us
Exactly! There is no way they can defeat us militarily, so going after our economy more efficient for them. Look at the reaction they got with Sept 11. Militarily, that was an insignificant strike, but look at the tremendous damage it did economically - the stock market tanked, airlines went to the verge of bankruptcy and we are pushing a world wide recession. You are right on the money with your assessment.

Sounds to me like he was a true patriot and wanted to continue protecting his country in the best way he knew how.
