How many jumped from the WTC towers?

The media has seemed to suppress this (how many poor souls that felt compelled to jump from the burning towers) for whatever reason.

I, for one, would like to be armed with some sort of number who leaped to their certain deaths. I have a feeling, due to the "Vietnamization" taking place now, that this tidbit of data might come in handy.......right about the time some clown gets my '5 across the lips'.

Anybody have an idea as to the numbers involved here? Thanks in advance.

So, the assumption here is that those who jumped can be propped up for persuasive purposes more effectively than those who were burned, suffocated, or crushed. Doesn't make much sense to me.

Good for you. Graffic pictures of people jumping from the burning buildings need to be blown up to super size and shown at every demonstration against the war. The film footage of the people jumping from the twin towers should be shown every night on the news. The people of this country have been bombarded with political corectness for the last 30 years and they don't know how to go to war because they might hurt someone's feelings.

The film from yesterday with Enya in background brought this to my mind as well. I think we all like to think it was over in seconds for all those poor victims. From the pictures I have seen, the people had a fair amount of time to think, burn or jump, what a horrible decision and the last one they all had to make.

Oh I agree with you there. My good friends son was on Cantor Fitagerald's floor. I just cannot imagine what he was going through the last minutes. A wonderful young man, husband and father of two preteens.

If the average "Joe" or "Jane" on the street knew of the carnage and that they are removing little more than rotten hamburger with bone chips, teeth and powdered concrete that smells like garbage mixed with aviation fuel from the wreckage now, kabul, karachi, islamabad, damascus, tehran, bagdad, rihyad, cairo and mecca would be a smoldering radioactive ruin. They are keeping it under wraps for fear of real retaliation and public backlash.

I once read that martyrs who were burned at the stake would breathe in the smoke and pass out before the flames reached them. If I was trapped in a burning highrise I would do that too, rather than jump out the window.

Actually I've heard this as well. I remember one of the evacuees saying something about 'piles of blood' outside on the sidewalk and street when they were still escaping the building before it collapsed. It was later when she/he realized that blood didn't make piles...

Only one picture that I saw (the one that gets posted around here alot) with those poor souls hanging out the windows, one window looks as if it is a woman holding a small child or very precious package.

Dear Jesus ,just when you think it doesn't get any worse ,you read this. That poor soul ,all of those poor souls. Folks these were people like us.I'm sick of reading about the poor Afghanistans.I can't summon up any pity for them.Nuke em.
