VANITY Question: What Have Your Dreams/Nightmares Been Like Since 9/11?
Posted on 10/15/2001 7:50:59 PM PDT by hispanarepublicana
My family and friends have always considered me to be slightly freakish because I have in my whole life had maybe 2 bad dreams or nightmares. However, since 9/11, I've often dreamed that I am running, trying to escape something; or, that I am on a train in a city and bombs are dropping out of the sky. The other night I dreamed we were out on one of those large hotel rooftop pool/patio areas in Dallas. There were several children about (almost like a family reunion or something). Suddenly, we saw an airliner fall out of the sky nose down about 2 miles away right on top of a water park. The rest of my dream was us trying to gather and protect the children.

I have noticed an definite increase in nightmares. I can't always remember what they are about, but I definitely wake up scared.

I dreamt that the USA annexed us here in Canada. OOPS -- I dream of that every night.

Actually my life has gone to hell since 9/11...but I don't think it's terrorist related.

He glowed from within. Words cant describe it. Inner illumination from the "uncreated light" is a regular feature of Orthodox iconography.

Now that's a scary dream!

Americans have this pathological obsession with introspection combined with a complete lack of security awareness. The dreams of individual Americans are of no consequence. Now we see dozens of Freepers unloading their insecurities into a public forum for all our enemies to enjoy. The Taliban likely has few psyop operatives. They don't need any as long as America's defenders spill their insecurities onto any public forum at the direction of no one in particular.

My dreams have never resembled real life, good or bad they've always been sheer nonsense..until 9/11. Since then I've had 2 full on terrorist type dreams where they've broken into my house and captured myself and my family. In both those dreams when I tried to go for our guns..someone (Gay Davis no doubt) has removed them.

Actually, I had a terrible dream on 9/10/01.
I was following a bearded man who was reciting a crazy philosophy under his breath. As I was listening I realized the man was crazy...but the mantra(?) made some kind of crazy sense. I can tell you exacly where I followed him to, but it is really intricate and would more than likely bore everyone. I will tell you it was thru a dry, barren valley and I remeber thinking the valley must have been carved by a huge river. >P> Once we arrived at his camp, in a dry river bed, the man sat down crossed-leg on a tartan plaid blanket. Everything had a maroon tint ti it. At this time the man spotted me. He asked me to sit down with him and I complied. I was terrible frightened and I told him ?something?. He then pulled a vile out of his robe filled with a clear liquid, and he grabbed the back of my neck so that we were eye-to-eye. I looked deep into his eyes and knew clearly that this man was crazy and dangerous. I also realized I was being drugged by the liquid in the vile, so I held my breath. After some time--when he thought I was drugged-- he asked me where the exit was.
I kid you not, it was aweful. I know it doesn't sound scary, but I woke up heart pounding, swaeting, and shakey. I woke my husband to tell him about this dream. He has been looking at my oddly ever since :)

I had a nightmare a couple weeks ago. I killed a hijacker. Stomped on his crotch area til he died...don't know if a man could actually die that way but it sure happened in my dream. Scary.

As a mom, I have to admit to having more anxiety at night, and fitful sleep. I'm supposed to be travelling to Russia to adopt two children, and the thought of leaving my other children here without my husband and I just seems to terrify me in the middle of the night. Things don't seem so bad during the day.....usually.
