*BREAKING TERRORIST "MARWAN" LIKELY ILL WITH ANTHRAX
ETHERZONE | 10/15/01 | Todd Brendan Fahey

Ether Zone Exclusive

Monday, Oct. 15, 2001; 8:52 p.m. EDT,p> Marwan Alshehhi (spelled variously also as: "al-Shehhi"), one of the principle terrorists in the first-wave of September 11, is likely "ground-zero" in the recent anthrax infections, reports Todd Brendan Fahey, who specializes in Intelligence affairs.

Confidential sources in law enforcement are stating today that Marwan Alshehhi rented a home at 1504 Delray Racquet Club, Delray Beach, Florida from Gloria Irish, the wife of Michael Irish, editor of The Sun, a tabloid owned by American Media Inc., in whose Boca Raton headquarters the first anthrax death occurred and up to seven other infections are now reported.

Currently, all infections are occurring within the major-market media community: persons at NBC, the Boston Globe and American Media (owners of The National Enquirer, The Star, and The Globe) have all fallen ill or demonstrated signs of anthrax infection. The mode of transport of the anthrax spores in question appears to be strategically-placed envelopes or envelopes sent through the U.S. Postal Service or through in-house mail routing (such as at NBC). "If it shot through that building as quickly as it appeared to, would the flames have enough time to destroy the spores?"

Anyone know the lifespan of an Anthrax spore? Dead 'anthraxed' animals in the woods, decaying, decomposing is a natural occurance. Seems if the spores were very hardy. . .anthrax would be much more common.

Which reminds me; think it is more common than we are led to believe with more cases involving hunters and those who come in contact with dead and diseased animals.

Many times, these cases are just not reported; person is just treated with the appropriate anti-biotic; end of story. . . (my understanding is Cipro and Doxycyclene (sp?) are the only two effective treatments; but have read info to the contrary nonetheless. . .

So is it possible that if there's something left of the body it could be a source of contamination?

That's how it spreads. When the host dies the bacteria goes into spore form as the body decomposes. (I think)

Whatever is going on, it not an effective biological attack

Exactly. I think they thought it would work much better than it has. Either that, or it's a diversion and they'll hit us somewhere else.

I do know for a fact that the CDC was at WTC site for at least two weeks after the bombing to test for disease etc. Didn't find anything then. Hopefully, that means there is nothing.

I'd guess the terrorists that pulled off the 9-11 atrocities have a NJ connection.

From the America's Most Wanted show on Friday, October 12, 2001 via CNN.com

• Abdul Rahman Yasin, 40, an Iraqi, is an Indiana native and one-time engineering student. Investigators say Yasin lived with convicted WTC bomber Mohamed Salameh in Jersey City, New Jersey, and maintained the apartment. Salameh rented the van that carried the explosives; an indictment says Yasin taught him how to drive. Yasin was questioned by the FBI after the bombing, but released and fled the country.

Problems for the "domestic" theory.

Just like some pointy-headed Harvard dude to use the current situation to try to sow some seeds of discord on the home front. Who do you think he's working for?

Go to Iselin, NJ. You'll think you're in Islamabad. I got off at the wrong exit and ended up there one night. I thought I had fallen through a time and space warp, into the Arabian Nights. But at least they all speak English, and were able to direct me to Colonia.

I hate to say it but I hope this Anthrax scare is due to Middle East terrorists. It would be worse if a bunch of sick Americans are behind this.

Every suggestion of this being from domestic terrorists is coming from the left in America.

They are trying to make political hay out of this without any proof whatsoever.

You can die from any of the forms of anthrax if not properly treated, and the reason that inhalation anthrax is so deadly is due to the hospitable enviroment of the lungs. Even inhalation anthrax is survivable, in and of it'self, but one of the major complications is the rapid spread of the bacillus, and that meningitis onset may also occur rapidly, and may be the actual cause of death.

Anthrax spores may survive almost indefintly in uncultivated soils with a pH greater that 6.0 and ambient temperature above 15.5 degrees Celsius. Anthrax spores seem to be the most common route for infection of animals, but human anthrax is most commonly spread through contaminated meat, bone meal, hides, and animal feeds. Bacilli or spores may be the agent of infection.

There is a great deal of information in a section of the Pediatric Desk Reference that is too large to post here.

"Trenton is a distribution center. Hard to tell exactly where the letter originated"

Right! 45+ postoffices ship their mail there where it's processed - so the "mailer" could've dropped his envelopes in any number of these locations....

It's the 085_ _ and 086_ _ zip codes in NJ that go through there.

There are plenty of Muslims who probably would be "sympathetic in NJ" ...and they may have just taken the ride from JerseyCity or somewhere else to MAIL the stuff, if they aren't Local to Trenton.

Most mail goes by air, the air carriers were shut down for the first six days, would have delayed any mail sent on the 10th and already stuck in the air traffic mail flow. So yes, it might have taken a few days to get postmarked and transported/delivered.
