[history]
Washington -- Sen. Dianne Feinstein proposed yesterday that the National Guard be transformed into "a kind of homeland defense force" that would protect everything from airports to aqueducts.
The California Democrat also said she wanted an increased role for the Coast Guard, which is charged with defense of the nation's ports and waterways.

Wow. That's the first time I've ever agreed with Sen. Feinstein. I've been saying that the Coast Guard would be a natural fit for airport security. They already handle other entry points-- maritime ports and border guards-- and they already have the infrastructure in place to work with customs, immigration, etc. It seems like a good idea to me. I'm not for expanding federal government, but national defense is a different matter.

We have always put trade ahead of the security of our nation. That's right, Diane- and you're one of the ones who has consistently done that, with your pro-China and pro-mass immigration policies.

BTW, I agree that the Coast Guard should have a role in professional airport security (running airport checkpoints, security machines, etc.) I don't agree that the National Guard should be used on more than a temporary basis.

Now if we could get Fienstein to quit using all that hairspray we could do away with a lot of Ozone depletion.

Knowing Feinstein, I'm willing to bet the fine print in this deal ends up putting the NG under direct federal control.

So if the national guard is completely occupied with homeland security who do we call up for additional line troops? Quite plainly there are not enough Califonia National guard troops to prtect all the targets in California and still be a state emergency force. Fienstien shgould read up on the definition of militia and the National Guard while an exellent organization and one that has a proud history of defense of our nation is not it.

I want the Guard in service against Feinstein.

Feinswine, a Constitutional illiterate, is a disgrace to the US Senate.

Shut up, Diane.
Yesterday you retracted the one & only worthwhile proposal you have ever made - restricting student visas. If this is an example of the level of your commitment to the security of this nation, then anything else you propose should be regarded as if it were dog deposits on a hot sidewalk.

Feinstein has been in the forefront of the drive to disarm the citizenry, i.e., the Constitutional Militia. She is going to find that the NG, in spite of a lot of heroic talk, is ill-prepared, ill-equipped, and generally under-staffed for such an assignment. And it is no small way directly her efforts that have made it that way.

Tell feinswein you have a better idea. Write your congress critters. Demand that all non citizen Muslims be deported NOW. This will make the FBI's job easier in watching the remaining ones. They may have to go too however.

Papers please!
All kidding aside, if she does this, two things will happen :
1)The leftists will have their federal police
2)Everybody will leave the National Guard.
