Isn't there some Muslim custom about being buried within 24 hours of death? It seems like I remember that from the Princess Di / Dodi Fayed (sp??) accident. I wonder what the significance of that is?

The body of Gamil el-Batouty, the co-pilot of EgyptAir Flight 990, who apparently committed suicide by crashing the aircraft into the Atlantic in 1999, was quietly returned to his family in Egypt last year for a private burial.Shouldn't that say "murder-suicide"???

There is precedent. The bodies of the executed Nazi war criminals (and Hermann Goering, who cheated the hangman with a cyanide capsule) were burnt and the ashes scattered secretly on the river Isar on a moonless night, from a place that has never been revealed.
