Isn't there some Muslim custom about being buried within 24 hours of death? It seems like I remember that from the Princess Di / Dodi Fayed (sp??) accident. I wonder what the significance of that is?

I'm guessing that the Muslims got the burial-within-24-hours custom from the Jews. We got it from the fact that it's not a good idea to leave rotting corpses laying around in the Middle Eastern sun. The
