October 5, 2001 -- AFTER seven months, Ariel Sharon finally had enough.
Since he took office, he's followed the U.S. line - talking peace with the Palestinians and agreeing to concession after concession.
In the grim days that followed the attacks on America, he even OK'd a meeting between his foreign minister, Shimon Peres, and Yasser Arafat - at the urgent request of Colin Powell.

The issue has nothing to do with Israel, the issue is about whether we are for or against terrorism, and, specificaly, Islamist terrorism.
This is a tired myth without much substance. Imagine what we could have done, in the period, when we were the world's sole nuclear power.
The US has also done much good in the world. We have defeated 20th century fascism and soviet imperialism. Beginning with the Marshall Plan, we have shared much of our wealth with the rest of the world. Whenever and wherever there is a disaster, the US is there to render aid and assistance.
No perceived slight the US may have visited on anyone warranted the murder of 6000+ innocent people.
The "world policeman" perspective is irrelevant to ignorant islamic fanatics who are brainwashed by their evil leaders.
As for the leaders, they are fighting a war that has been punctuated through history by Tours, the Crusades, and Vienna. America was attacked because we symbolize the epitome of Judeo-Christian Western Civilization, not because of our foreign policy.
If you can prove me wrong I will accept your childish insults.

Oh puuuleaeeeeese! This is getting really old and burdensome. Getting down to the definition of a terrorist. How lame!
lavaroise will reply to you next time I hit a PC, but your second sentence kind of backed up what I am saying.
I did not write your countries policy, but why we are fighting this war has a direct bearing on how we are fighting it.
Tony
And the cause is? Get real, we all know what the cause is. Arming nations like Saudi Arabia that terrorize their own people against developing ideas, religions, gods and arts of their own is the cause of international terrorism. You want to get rid of terrorism, then we need to nuke clean the middle East until it bows to inalienable civil rights demands within and without their territories. We are not talking about being the World Policeman, but being the world's great death... but the liberal utopia is against death and righteous battles of this scale.
So maybe in the end, the origin of terrorism is our lack of ability, as liberals, to communicate to others that terrorism is unacceptable. That's right, we are afraid to communicate because real communication requires sacrifice and blood shedding at times. We're a bunch of muted enuchs.
Flash news, this plague of terrorism is coming to our shores too... We are here grand standing Israel, but here is what is going to happen
In the near future the US is going to receive such a terrible blow that it will be weaker than Israel. The result will be that we will be begging Israel for help this time. WATCH IT! We are already less secure from terrorists than Israel is today when a few weeks ago every one said Israel was a mad place to live in for Jews. But the table is going to turn further.
America is weakened beyond recognition and it is asking for more.
Good for him. It's about time.
While what is in those books scare me, it is time Isreal made her stand
Revelation:
Re:12:14: And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
I support Isreal, and pray that the United States proves herself to be the "two wings of a great eagle" that helps Isreal.
You posted the whole truth of the matter. It is not wise to go against Israel and Sharon has every right to defend his own nation against the likes of Arafat. Bush is taking the wrong stand on this issue. I think Bush Jr is about to entrap us in this war like his dad did in the Gulf War. Alliances are being sought over principle. That act brought us eventual defeat in Iraq.
I have no real problem with Israel per se, just I don't think we should be supporting them the way we have been. As far as I'm concerned, I would much rather keep the $$ we send in aid to Israel here at home.
Our close relationship with Israel has cost the US far more than it is worth, and I for one would cut them loose to sink or swim on their own.
On the other hand, I have no problem with them nuking all their stated enemies to a glassy residue, either.
Go ahead flamers - I'm wearing my asbestose undies...
Soooooooooo, Mr. FNG, I suggest you take a hike.
Who's your ISP, baby? - Uncle Saddam?
