October 5, 2001 -- AFTER seven months, Ariel Sharon finally had enough.

Since he took office, he's followed the U.S. line - talking peace with the Palestinians and agreeing to concession after concession.

In the grim days that followed the attacks on America, he even OK'd a meeting between his foreign minister, Shimon Peres, and Yasser Arafat - at the urgent request of Colin Powell.

If Saudi Arabia doesn't let us use their bases, we can take them by force.

So what you are recommending is an invasion and conquest of the Middle East.

Isn’t that what we accused the Nazi, the Russians, and are afraid that is what China will do given half a chance.

And what then, how many American troop will it take too hold the whole of the Middle East.

America is a super power yes as Russia was and as was Nazi Germany in her day but she is a republic well she was the last time I looked not an Empire Builder.

This terrorist activity is a direct result of America in her role as the worlds policeman.

Osama Bin Laden is a Radical Islamist, his movement want to overthrow the Saudi Royal family and create a Islamic state on the lines of Iran well more harsher, he wants to spread this movement to all of the Arab states.

The biggest obstacle is America, America is using both Military and financial support to prop up every pro western Arab state in the Middle East, and not a single democracy amongst them

If you to replace the covert support with direct invasion, then you will have the Holy war that many on both sides want.

Yes we will win a conventional war but they wont fight conventional they will use terrorist methods against all our bases on a larger scale than so far.

Your Government will be forced to react with harsher and harsher methods while introducing one law after another to combat terrorism at home, maybe even getting rid of that constitution on the way.

The Vietnam war changed American society it done a lot of damage this war will do even more.

You have to ask your self do you really want America to be the worlds policeman, do you want to see an American Empire.

The terrorist will pay for this atrocity using covert and overt means but after that the West needs to take a long hard look at its foreign policy.

Perhaps a Jewish American or two should ponder the consequences of Jewish voters in South Florida. They claimed they were too dumb to read a ballot. They all really meant to vote for Al Gore. That was not one of their brighter moves.

The vast marjority of Jewish Americans vote for Democrats no matter how many times Hillary kisses Mrs. Arafat.

Dubya doen't owe the Jewish community anything. They can't threaten to remove support from Dubya. They gave all their support to Gore before and after the election. They are not supporting Dubya now. They are shaking their fists at Bush as we speak.

Isn't that just brilliant? Don't Jews know that people who crawl in bed with the Clinton's always get screwed? And that people who cross Dubya tend to lose? They should ask their old buddy Gore how that works.

The thing about not having any leverage....is you don't have any leverage.

Now, move back to Israel

Since most American Jews, nor any of their ancestors (post diaspora that is) ever lived in Israel, this is ridiculous. Seems Macroman might be advised to move to Afghanistan so he can live with like minded people, like the Taliban. Maybe a nice camp somewhere in the Bekka Valley, Syria, Libya, Sudan or similar garden spots.

Whatever happened to "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". If we are willing to jump into bed with Russia, because of a common enemy, then the Israelis would be even more the enemy of our enemy.

Now I have no beef with anyone because of their religion, but I do have a problem with the collection of thugs and dictators that make up the governments of most Moslem countries. I'm sure there must be one or two that are freely elected, but I can't think of them, maybe something on the far west or far east of the Muslim belt?

The situtaion with Israel and the so called Palistinians is analogous to Mexicans coming accross the border into those parts of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California that were once, over 150 years ago now, part of Mexico, then blowing up things and killing people. What would would the US do if such a thing was going on? Actually you don't even need to think about it, think about Pancho Villa and Black Jack Pershing, which was all over a much less heinous act.

O.K. So we let Sharon declare war which then allows Syria, Lebannon, and maybe Egypt to start lobbing missles around the Middle East. Most of our fire power is posed in the Indian Ocean towards Afghanistan. I don't think Bush is giving up on Israel, but it is a matter of first things, first. If he can get Bin Laden without war being declared in Israel at the same time, don't you think we have a better chance of winning overall? I am SURE that Arafat will get what he deserves in the future. It's all a matter of timing. Don't you think the Palestinian escalation is just a tactic to push events forward too fast so the US would be at a greater disadvantage?

Questions

- How come the pentagon identified so fast the Missile over the black sea.

- Is that the same pentagon that missed the 9 11 signs?

- Can satellite designed for ballistic missile identify tiny ground to air missile path?

- Why Putin keep claiming it was a terror attack?

- Is it possible one of the ‘’coalition members’’ behind that Russian /Israeli plane attack

- Why Sharon seem so fury that night with his speech?

Ahh, here we are, right back to "It's all America's fault."

Like we need another jerk chanting that line.

Don't worry, it is business as usual, Americans will continue to die, our government will worry about literacy rates and do nothing for defense, and jerks like you will continue to say that it's ok for Muslims to murder women and children because we deserve it.

Get lost.

Is President Bush is out of his mind? Acquiescing to the whimpers of those who, by all accounts, have been responsible for the proliferation of terror. Would destabilize the whole Mid-East Area. It also will allow those very terrorist who we are at WAR with greater access to our country in the future. To even think of such a stance baffles the mind. Would we make a statement like this about England? If this is true Laura Bush better get her pucker ready--Mrs. PLO is waiting! Stick with our friends. God Bless America

"era of after-Arafat"

I think this could be some foreshadowing to what will happen to Arafat and the Palestinian Hamas and Hezbolah. I also believe Sharon will no longer negotiate with Arafat no matter what.

I have some experience of tar babies, and how easy it is to get in and how bloody difficult it is to get out, as you now from are past chats, about another part of the world.

My country built an Empire it was purely for economic reasons, but we sold it as we were bringing freedom, enlightenment, democracy to the then ignorant savages.

Well the empire got too much it cost an absolute fortune, after the last war while Japan, and Germany were building up there economy and America was racing ahead, Britain and France were squandering scarce resources fighting colonial wars all over the globe.

I see that empire building attitude on this site sometimes, just as grandly described.

The Middle East is vital because of Oil, none of the Oil producers are democracies, most are built on very shaky foundations. The Current Palestine Israeli problem just makes it worse.

While America is in the region I cant see the problem being sorted out at all.

All this diplomatic back and forth does is to stop the problems from getting to bad, meanwhile Israelis and Plantains continue to die, and both blame America, either publicly or privately.

I am not Jewish, I have never been to Israel & do not wish to go. But if you think that it's alright for us to retaliate against Terrorist that kill innocent people here in the states. How can you think that it's not alright for Israel to also kill their version of Terrorist scumbags. I make no distinctions between cowards that blow up Civilians, teenagers & school children. You need to rethink your position MM.

I don't blame Sharon one bit..sorry but that's how I feel

Why feel sorry? Sharon is calling a spade a spade. He knows that GW would rather wheel and deal with our enemies than act decisively to eliminate them and risk turning world opinion against our actions. GW is more concerned about what some foreign journalist will write than he is about protecting the safety of his own people. I'm running out of patience with all this ridiculous talk of who we might offend. We need to take strong action against all our enemies and stop playing games.

Dubya doen't owe the Jewish community anything.

Actually he owes the Jewish community everything. Dubya is a Christian which means he places his faith in a Jewish man named Jesus. So you see, George has an understanding and appreciation of his (spiritual) roots.

My suggestion to anyone or any nation would be to love Israel. It's the wise thing to do.

" I will bless those who bless you, and him who curses you I will curse; and by you all the families of the earth shall bless themselves." Words spoken by the Most High God in Genesis 12:3
