***Pathetic TV Show, Mediocre "Stars", Our Heros Deserve Better***

And Liza with a z sounds drunk.....
What a night of disasters for TV
The first 30 minutes of the "heros" special was so bad, the acts so lame, no hits, no nothing......what a wasted opportunity.......
I couldn't take it any longer......
It seems that if the studio ain't in Nashville, the sound will be crap.......
The stars, on phones through the hour I could stand with no sound on, were never spoken to, and they were the only points of interest I could find.....all these stars and we're watching a bunch of absolutely mediocre performances by past icons who weren't even smart enought to play their hits......
I knew it was going to be a bust when Springstein DIDN'T play the only appropriate song he has, Born In the USA, and instead sang some nonesense about rise up, rise up, rise up, rise up, rise up and maybe another word or two.......
Hollywood, or whoever is going to take the fall for this absolute failure, should, IMHO get out of the business.

Thanks a lot, you spoiled it all for me. I was going to tune in with an open mind, but now I have an excuse to go to bed and read a book instead. Say, have they sung Kumbaya yet? How about Where Have All the Flowers Gone? Give Peace a Chance? Imagine there's no country and no religion too?
Where are Jimmy Stewart and Frank Sinatra who contributed anonymously and without a fuss and without concern for their careers?

The highlight of the night so far was the reunion of Sipowitz and Simon ! I hope before the night is out MacGarret and Danny will pop out. This is a joke. Watch for some incredible figure come out tomorrow about the record breaking donations. Bogus bogus bogus.. Bookem Danno

I'm not kicking over anythinbg, I'm voicing my opinion of a lousy TV show hyped all day.....if it had been good, I would have praised it, and I was looking forward to it, but it stunk

I wish they would put their names on the screen somewhere, I only knew Faith Hill and the Dixie Chicks and Billy Joel.
Sad not to see at least a small American Flag.

I have not watched any of this HOLLYWOOD telethon, yet! I have only two questions. 1. IS THE FLAG FLYING visible to us at home? 2. Has anyone said anything positive in any way about our Commander-in-Chief? If both questions are answered yes then I will watch it.

What a pile of dung! I just saw it as I flipped through the channels. Maybe the Hollywierdos are afraid that "Sammy" will be targeting them next?

these liberals seem uniquely un qualified to say anything and most uninspiring. It all seems so hoolow, shallow, small and meaningless - When Bon Jovi was singing about "we are gonna make it, I promise" or something, I thought "whatever dude".... So empty and shallow. Glad they are raising money for the heroes though....

Kinda of paraphrased it since I don't have the tape this instant. But this is exactly what is going on tonight. They have supported the gutting of the military and intelligence services. Now they are putting on a telethon and hoping that people forget that they (the left-wing liberals) were the cause. Tom Clancy hit the nail on the head! (Thanks for reminding.)

I refuse to give to the United Way. Just know that if you do, you're either
A) financing some United Way exec's vacation with some comely secretary, or
B) paying the upper-four-digit mortgage payment for some lower-level, regional United Way "manager", or
C) financing (via whatever's left over) some b.s. group like "Lesbian Moms Are People, Too" or "Trees Over Human Scum Anyday" or "Die Whitey Filth Pass the Cash".
No thanks. Pick your charities one at a time YOURSELVES, folks. Trust me.
To: woofie
I would agree -- money gets where it belongs not to the Executives like at the United Way!
To: usmom
I'm with you. I refuse to turn it on. Don't need to watch their garbage. It's just a show for their egos... As to United Way, I refuse to give them any money especially how they have treated the Boy Scouts. Awhile back there was a co-worker whose mother had severe arthritis. The Mother did not have insurance nor money and the co-worker was doing everything she could to help her Mom but her finances were also limited (Single Mom). We had just had a big company sponsored United Way drive so I told the co-worker to call United Way, they should be able to help her mother. Well talk about a "Big Run Around". What a joke. The only thing the Mother ever did receive was brochures. After that happened, I refused to give United Way another dime. They are nothing but a front to alot of "liberal fronts". Besides I do not need a middle man to give to my favorite charities. I prefer to give direct. I'm not surprised that the Hollywood Left would pick United Way. It figures.

Seriously I do not know who these people are and I really do not like the music. I do not know except from threads here who these people are. They could be right, middle or left and I would not know. It's not left bashing I just do not like the music very much, sorry.

They are just straight faced, dressed in dark colors and looking stoic. They are repeating what we all ready know. Recalling stories about people who are missing or killed. It is really, really, slow. But out of morbid curosity, we wanted to know if they were going to bash Bush or do anything remotely patriotic. They could have put on a much better production, IMHO
