This is not the way to go. The mujadeen terrorists are just as whacked-out as White Supremecists who hang crosses and swastikas next to each other. Do we paint all of Christianity with that label? We should not condone painting all Muslims with the actions of the far fringe of that creed. For cryin' out loud, two of the perps were DRINKING the Friday night prior to the attack. These are not the devout, they are a hideous perversion of that faith.

Sounds like a pretty predictable reaction to what happened on Tuesday morning. But we should be focusing our efforts on wiping out countries that harbor these sick wackos like Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, etc.
To: oxi-nato
Attacking all muslims for this would be like attacking all WASPs for the OK City blast.

Wow! Now the government has more justification for hate crime laws or for declaring marshall law if this gets out of hand/anything else happens. Let me adjust my tin foil here....

In Gary, Ind., a man in a ski mask fired a high-powered assault rifle at the gas station where Hassan Awdah, a U.S. citizen born in Yemen, was working, the Gary Post Tribune reported. Gary Police are investigating it as a hate crime. "I lived in the Middle East for most of my life and have never seen anything like this," Awdah said. I guess he never lived in Israel.

A good parallel is Japanese-Americans in World War Ii. We imprisoned all that lived on the west coast. But no Japanese American proved disloyal and they provided us with our most-decorated regiment. From what I have seen of American Muslim, they equally appreciate the better life here and are anxious to prove their loyalty, and to extend the blessings of liberty to their posterity. A similiar parallel as far as religion goes has been the attitude of many as late as fifty years ago toward American Catholics as "the legions of the Pope." How quaint and antique that now sounds!

"I'm proud to be American and I hate Arabs and I always have," Impressive.
How ever did you resist the urge to laud these folks as you posted the thread?

Something that would be most helpful at this time is for Americans to know that all who are here in America now are here LEGALLY.
1. We need to rigidly and strictly enforce our national borders IMMEDIATELY.
2. We need to identify all who are in this country ILLEGALLY, and DEPORT THEM IMMEDIATELY. PERIOD !!!

These incidents are minor and few. In fact, the article had to go abroad for the worst of them.
Americans are not going about willy-nilly attacking the muslims.
To: oxi-nato
The lust for retaliation outstrips precision in identifying the actual assailant. The targets abroad will be all the usual suspects: rogue states, (most of which, like the Taleban or Saddam Hussein, started off as creatures of US intelligence). The target at home will be the Bill of Rights, which protects the rights of all Americans, including Arab Americans.

This should come as no surprise. Americans are just as bloodthirsty, bigoted and depraved as anyone else on this planet. Now that people here have got a taste of what others in Belgrade, Bagdad and elsewhere have been putting up with they find they don't like it one bit. No, not at all. Seems that a lot of these armchair warriors and overgrown children haven't learned the elementary fact that what goes around comes around. If you don't want terror, then don't spread it by bombing civilian targets in other places. If you don't want kamikazes coming at you then don't arm people (Israel) who spend their time killing civilians. But Americans never learn.

We all have an obligation to help keep the situation calm. As I said in a message to the NEOhio Freepers this morning we'd all like to kick a little Ossama Bin Laden butt. But, he ain't here, and many of us are getting too old and too out of shape for a bar fight.
Organize a fund drive for the families and children of the firefighters and police who aren't coming home in New York City or the people who were on the planes, or working in the offices in New York and Washington. Get these people involved in that. Channel their energy into something constructive.
We are not the same as the people who did this. There will be a time, and a place. Now is not the time, the streets are not the place.

While inexcusable, it is understandable that this would happen. My suggestion for every Mosque in the US is to stand together with their American brothers and to appeal to their followers to offer any assistance they can in bringing these cowards to justice. Many of them have family in the lands that we must go to. Many speak the language. Many of them understand a culture that is confusing and foreign to us.
Prove that they are Americans first, and Muslims second. Otherwise, their cries of victimhood will fall on deaf ears.
To: oxi-nato
This is reprehensible, and the people whop are doing these things are no better than bin Laden.
It's not just Muslims. Sikhs, who have beards and wear turbans, are also being attacked. With all these attacks on Sikhs and Muslims, we're turning into India.
We must have more exposure of these acts of violence instead of more talking heads telling us that bin Laden is a bad guy.

Gary Police are investigating it as a hate crime..................Hate crime. They need to drop that bullshit term from the everyday language and apply it to TRUE hate crimes. Start looking to NYC, DC, etc.
Those of the arab descent need to realize that they WILL be looked at with suspicion. How many of the terrorists mingled in their local society, acting as harmless friends, being treated as harmless friends, and then turned around and committed such atrocities?

Yes, well, I'm on the hot-headed side myself right now, and I probably look back on myself and feel some shame... but for right now, all I know is that Muslims have been targeting Christians and Americans for years now, and finally, they are going to get some payback.
- The Christians slaughtered by Muslims in Africa weren't terrorists.
- The 4 social workers jailed by Muslims for passing out Bibles in Afghanistan weren't terrorists. (only facing life in prison, not murder)
- The white girls getting gang-raped by Muslims and passed to other gangs of Muslims (in France and Australia) weren't terrorists.
- The 10,000+ killed by Muslims in the Big Apple weren't terrorists.
- The 17 sailors on the USS Cole murdered by Muslims weren't terrorists (although at least they were a viable military target in the war the Muslims started several years ago against us)
- The 200+ people killed in the embassies in Kenya and Tanzania that were bombed by Muslims weren't terrorists.
- The 6 killed in the Muslims WTC I attack weren't terrorists.
Do you need more examples (and there are dozens) to know that the militant Muslims only care about conversion or destruction?
Would you like an accounting of the injured as well, before you realize that jihadists are going after our innocent brethren?
May we peruse the Koran and find the citations that instruct good little Muslims to lie, cheat, steal, and defile non-believers.
Shall we check out a few hundred tv shots of Palestinians celebrating our dead, burning our flag, chanting "Death to USA", and calling us the "Great Satan" before it rings a bell that this is WAR, and their brethren are just as 'fair game' as ours?
It's awfully sweet of you to only want the guilty to be punished. Just know that those thousands of Muslims who were dancing in the streets, or in their hearts, as we mourned our dead, will be happy to know that you won't be putting up much of a fuss about them supporting those who murdered your family.
It's WAR, they chose sides, they attacked first, they've been attacking for years, they almost always target civilians... and you worry about their friends getting rocks thrown at them?!?!?
Whose side are you on?

"I'm proud to be American and I hate Arabs and I always have," This guy is an idiot.
There are reasonable precautions about mid-easterners on visa's or recently emigrated, and then there's this numbnutz.

oops! forgot to change the names to the more emotionally mature posters here.
I agree with your sentiments, and you calls for restraint, and your strong and consistent devotion to Justice...
but this isn't the time or the place.
This is WAR.

Excuse me, but the entire Islamic and Arab community in the U.S.A. is riddled with anti-semites, anti-Americans, conspirators, co-conspirators and fifth columnists and terrorist scum hiding within and using their organizations for cover. Don't be naive. People lie. All Arabs and muslims first allegience is to Islam. They hate us, Israel and all Jews.

In Gary, Ind., a man in a ski mask fired a high-powered assault rifle at the gas station where Hassan Awdah, a U.S. citizen born in Yemen, was working, As opposed to a low-powered assault rifle?
Gary Police are investigating it as a hate crime.
As opposed to normal shootings where the guys with the "high powered" assault rifle really likes the guys he is shooting at?
"I lived in the Middle East for most of my life and have never seen anything like this," Awdah said
Where the hell did he live? The middle of the desert?
