This, children, is why you do not connect your appliances to WiFi.

This is also why I don’t connect my solar inverters to the web either.

Attacking grocery stores? Is it time for that white flag of surrender of which our French pals are so famous?

While I was away, my smart fridge noticed my meat supply was getting low, so it reached out to ChatGPT and next thing I know a quarter side of beef was on my front porch! Gotta keep a close eye these sneaky things.

This same thing happened to several US military commissaries a month or two ago.

Les Mousquetaires”? It wasn’t Disney, was it?
To: yesthatjallen
The article says Stop & Shop, Giant, and Food Lion, all big US chains, have been taken off line.
Safeway and Lidl seem to be online.

Absolutely true, no one needs this. The reason manufacturers want you to use your smart phone to control things, is it is cheaper to build a product that doesn’t have any physical buttons. I have a JBL party box portable boom box, and I wanted to turn down the bass. It doesn’t have the usual slider to adjust the tone. But you can do it from your phone. That saves JBL a few dollars because they don’t need to install a physical slider. probably more reliable also, but less secure and more of a pain, if you phone isn’t charged you can’t do anything, you have 100 different apps to figure out, etc. But cheaper for sure.

They shouldn’t spoil too much food; if this World wide drought continues, there is going to be a real shortage of food.

A large shortage may develop here in the USA since the dems brought in 20million extra mouths to feed.

Never happens with beer? It wasn’t widely publicized at the time, but AI had dispatched this truck to my house. ChatGPT claimed the beer was for cooling its chips.

Absolutely not! "Smart" anything - homes, appliances, autos - leaves you vulnerable to hacking.
All hackers should be summarily executed.
