Fischer, a former Rhode Island anesthesiologist who spent more than two decades on the run after fleeing during his child sexual assault trial, was captured aboard a sailboat off the coast of New Jersey after an online sleuth's tip helped investigators track him down, according to the FBI.

Unrelated but perhaps of interest. A couple bought a house , previously owned by a well-respected pediatrician, in an upscale neighborhood. After a year or so they decided to have some renovations done to what today we’d call a man cave, the doctor’s den.
First day on the job the contractor called them down to look. Behind a false wall, they uncovered boxes with thousands of 35mm slides of naked children in various poses, both little boys and little girls. The slides were turned over to the police but the doctor was long dead.

F’ing losers didn’t have the first clue until a citizen investigator LED THEM TO THE FUGITIVE. But congratulations to all those investigators that failed for 20 years. Losers. Promotions are surely in their future.

‘Twill be interesting as the perp describes how he avoided detection for 20 years. And presumably bought a very expensive sailboat. He got sloppy and got caught. Happens to the best crooks.
