WASHINGTON (7News) — The Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C., has been canceled, according to the event organizers.
As heat index temperatures on July 4 are expected to soar well above 100 degrees, the organizers said they decided to cancel the event.
"This decision was made after extensive and careful consideration of the safety of our participants, spectators, and staff as the top priority," said Todd Marcocci, president of Under the Sun Productions Inc., the organizer of the parade.

In Texas, we have our Independence Day parades in the morning before it warms up.
I saw a Facebook post of a group who was planning on being in the Philly parade. It said they were heading to DC for thier parade.
The record temperature in DC for the 4th of July is 100 degrees, set in 1919.
As if any of them actually believe in God.
Warming up in Texas happens shortly after daylight.
But yes, there will be a lot of 4th of July parades tomorrow in Texas regardless of the heat.
When I was a kid July 4th 1966 in CT was 104 degrees and we had a parade in my hometown of Willimantic . It was in the morning if memory serves .
and I dont wake up before is warms up. Need and get a lot of sleep.

I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a July 4th where it was under 100 degrees. Never stopped parade around here.
