Iran is considering attending peace talks with the United States in Pakistan, a senior Iranian official told Reuters on Monday, following moves by Islamabad to end a U.S. blockade of Iran's ports, a major hurdle for Iran to rejoin peace efforts.
However, the official stressed that no decision had been made.
With a two-week ceasefire set to expire, a senior Iranian official said Tehran was "positively reviewing" its participation but no final decision had been made. The comments conveyed a clear change of tone from earlier statements ruling out attendance and pledging to retaliate for U.S. aggression.
The Iranian official said mediator Pakistan was making positive efforts to end the U.S. blockade and ensure Iran's participation.

SEC. 3. The President in every possible instance shall consult with Congress
before introducing United States Armed Forces into hostilities
or into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances,
and after every such introduction shall consult regularly with the Congress
until United States Armed Forces are no longer engaged in hostilities or have been removed from such situations.
REPORTING
SEC. 4. (a) In the absence of a declaration of war, in any case in which United States Armed Forces are introduced—
(1) into hostilities or into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances;

the President shall submit within 48 hours to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and to the President pro tempore of the Senate a report, in writing, setting forth—
(A) the circumstances necessitating the introduction of United States Armed Forces;

(b) Within sixty calendar days after a report is submitted or is required to be submitted pursuant to section 4 ( a ) ( 1 ) , whichever is earlier, the President shall terminate any use of United States Armed Forces with respect to which such report was submitted (or required to be submitted), unless the Congress

Sounds like the blockade is all that is working.
Bombs away
Tomorrow maybe TACO Tuesday.
The US should not be setting deadlines for anything. If we have military action that we can take, we should take it. Setting deadlines allows Iran to play these games and delay. That is their strategy - delay and string things out. Never come to a conclusion. We have to pressure the IRGC until they are either destroyed or know there is no option but to negotiate for real.
At the 11th hour Iran will say “let’s talk” just like they always do to further delay.....think Lucy, Charlie Brown and the football.
The Iranians are playing trump for time. Time for the midterms, which is slowly ticking away.
I foresee Charlie Brown, wearing a long red tie, kicking the bossy blue dressed brunette AND the football through the uprights, with her shoes and hijab flying loose.
If the leadership in Iran doesn’t change, and free the people ,we lose!
I agree, bomb them back to the stone age. Oh wait, they are already there.
If POTUS ends the blockade for any reason other than surrender, he will have done great damage to the core strategic interests of the American people.
Until the IRGC is completely destroyed they will continue to tell nothing but lies and promote false promises in order to stay in power
NEW: A source close to Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf says reports of an Iranian delegation traveling to Islamabad are “incorrect,” directly contradicting claims from Al Jazeera, CNN, and Pakistani officials today that Iran was privately planning to attend.
VP Vance, Witkoff, and Kushner are expected to land in Islamabad within hours.
