Where is the decision on the Supreme Court case involving the Voting Rights Act? Where is Louisiana v. Callais, the case that could weaken the Voting Rights Act, and potentially cause Democrats to tremble? The national consequences of this decision are critical, as a ruling striking down the VRA could lead to total Republican control across the South. Perhaps that’s why the Court is slow-walking in releasing the opinion.
Sean Spicer said on The Huddle that the opinion is finished, but some justices are holding out as long as possible to prevent redistricting. Does that mean VRA is going to be struck down?
“I have been told by reliable sources that the decision is done and the minority is slow walking the dissent so that states do not have time to redistrict,” said Spicer.
So, does this mean we won?
The Callais case revolves around whether the creation of a majority-minority congressional district in Louisiana violates the 14th and 15th amendments.

Democrats' chance of taking the House in 2026 have plummeted, while GOP chances have skyrocketed over the last 6 months...
Why?
1. Dems aren't keeping up with the pace they set in 2017 on the generic ballot.
2. GOP may be looking at big gains from mid-decade redistricting.
KBJ is still tossing her word salad.
The VRA has always been unconstitutional. If struck down, the rending of garments and gnashing of teeth will be...glorious.
It will be blue states who will cry that they don't have time to make the changes. And the left-wing block of SCOTUS is doing everything to help them by slow-walking their dissent.
That’s ok. If the blue states aren’t in compliance with the ruling by Election Day they can just sit it out.
I thought the Supreme Court wasn’t supposed to be motivated by political considerations. So where’s Chief Justice Roberts on this? I thought the integrity of the court was supposed to matter to him. If it did he would have told the dissenters the decision is being released with or without their written dissent.
In all seriousness, if the decision drops too late for red states to redistrict before the midterms, Congress needs to haul the Supreme Court in front of Congress and do an investigation. If Congress has oversight powers over the Executive Branch then by all rights they should have oversight powers over the judicial branch. If certain members of SCOTUS deliberately slow walked their opinion, for political reasons, and if the Chief Justice allowed it to happen, the people have a right to know.
It’s possible some of those islands are about to sink.
As if you need proof this shows that these people are not judged but activists
Rending, hell - there will be widespread SOILING!
Tip over!
