The Senate confirmed Colin McDonald 52-47 to lead the new National Fraud Enforcement Division targeting abuse of taxpayer-funded programs.
The Senate confirmed Colin McDonald on a 52–47 vote to serve as the Justice Department’s first assistant attorney general for national fraud enforcement on Tuesday, as the Trump administration ramps up efforts to crack down on abuse of taxpayer-funded programs.
The confirmation comes as federal officials continue investigating large-scale fraud schemes, including a Minnesota daycare fraud probe involving millions in taxpayer-funded federal dollars, while House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has alleged whistleblowers warned state leaders about the issue for years.
President Donald Trump created the new National Fraud Enforcement Division to target systemic fraud across federal programs, pointing to cases such as Minnesota, which officials say have both exposed widespread abuse and helped shape the federal government’s response.

Cries of racism and throwing poor people in the street will begin in 3.... 2.... 1.....
Having him report directly to JD and Trump is key. Blondi can’t run interference or screw it up.
“investigating” is good.
But is anyone ever going to be arrested?
For years, people in the Senate (Jim Jordan, etc.) would hold hearings and investigate stuff. They would write sternly-worded letters. But nothing would happen. I was told that this is because Congress is not law enforcement. Congress can investigate, but it’s the FBI or other law enforcement agency that would arrest the bad guys.
Then we got Bondi and Kash Patel over at DOJ. Do you know what they do? They investigate. Then they write letters. They send letters to Congress, asking Congress to do something about the Bad People.
Do you see how this works? Because it doesn’t. The goal seems to be “not arresting anyone”.
Meanwhile, we have James O’Keefe, Nick Shirley, DataRepublican and other citizen journalists who do the heavy lifting of investigating fraud and other crimes. And the government nods and says “That’s nice.”
What’s particularly troubling to me is the behavior of the Democratic Party.
To openly and publicly oppose trying to eliminate criminal fraud and abuse is disturbing.
Perhaps even more disturbing is the fact the “rank & file” of democratic voters don’t appear to have a problem with it either.
Exactly right. There is NO crime or criminality that Democrats do not vigorously support and endorse. How the heck did that party arrive at that point?
“There are many other DEMONRAT frauds out there that are low fruit hanging.”
There are many SWAMP frauds that are low hanging fruit.
Some of those SWAMP frauds appear to be bipartisan.
For example the Deloitte HHS IES Integrated Eligibility System fraud is in 25 states, both R and D. In GA the DCH Medicaid CIO back in 2013-2014 pointed out the need for the IES software to be better designed and coded. The administration of Republican governor DEAL sided with Deloitte in the swamp. Since then nobody on the inside has chosen to take on the swamp.
These welfare programs are 90% Federal money, 10% State money. Decisions on vendors are made at the state level based on criteria/strings attached to 90% of the money.
Of 4 candidates for GA governor, Brad Rafensberger and Chris Carr are clearly in the swamp. It is not clear whether Burt Jones or Rick Jackson would be best to fight the FRAUD in the SWAMP.... It is not clear which would be the best on any issue.
They are currently throwing dirt at each other about the past. The more they focus on the past ... and the more they throw dirt at each other ... the more likely the Democrat will win in November.
Success depends on the staff. Staff should not be crying over the spilled milk of 2020. Staff should be focused on current crimes... both from a policy perspective and from a political perspective.
So he’s the chief of fraud? Strange headline.
Enforcement? I suggest to have an AG for fraud prevention and prosecution.
Agreed.
The Republicans should instantly have the messaging……..”Dem so and so voted against investigating fraud”.
It messaging should have been immediate and intense. Every couple of hours……on all the social media. Sunday shows……why are the Dems against this.
Instead, crickets.
I hope we provide good security for Mr. McDonald’s and his family.
Stephen Miller says there is not a single verification system in place in Democrat states to receive federal benefits
Elon Musk and DOGE tried to warn us….
He says Blue states operate “ENTIRELY ON THE HONOR SYSTEM”
He says this is how Democrats put illegals on our benefits… pic.twitter.com/CSvsRGb2CC— Wall Street Apes (@WallStreetApes) March 28, 2026
Stealing elections is not spilled milk. It deserves the death penalty.
We should be more concerned about the Nov 2026 election than the Nov 2020 election.
In GA the losers of the 2020 Dem primary made the same allegations of vote fraud that MAGA made after the Nov 2020 election. The time for MAGA to be concerned was Sept-Oct 2020. But nobody did anything (including me).
Yes from Cain & Abel to the Holacaust to today in Iran terrible things happen. IMO we should now be concerned about the present and future more than about the past.
